August could be absolutely brutal in terms of who they're playing.

The Tatis Jr. for Shields trade is obviously worse, but yeah, I don't know why more people don't bring up the Samardzija deal. That was absolutely horrible for the Sox.

Castillo's framing is god awful

Am I the only one who doesn't want Robert hitting leadoff? He very well might end up being the best hitter on the team...maybe even better than Moncada and Eloy. If that's the case, I want him hitting 3rd so he can drive in the guys batting in front of him (Madrigal and Moncada) who will hopefully get on base a ton.

This is cool and all, but I don't get the correlation between playing in this game and the idea that the Sox will make a huge splash in free agency.

They can bring up both Mercedes and Mendick while still keeping Goins. Have Yermin replace Reed at DH, Mendick replace Yolmer at 2B, and keep Goins at 3B until Moncada comes back. And DFA Castillo and replace him with Collins while we're at it.

I hate to say it, but is it possible that Abreu is actually a couple years older than he says he is? Because if that's the case, his sudden decline makes a lot more sense.

This is exactly what we said at this time last year. And then they proceeded to fail miserably.

Do you actually think the Sox will sign Gerrit Cole or some other premier free agent this offseason?

I said I don't expect them to sign a good free agent. They'll spend...it'll just be on the Kelvin Herrera's and Ivan Nova's of the world until they prove otherwise.

For those of you expecting the Sox to sign a good free agent this offseason, bless your soul. I learned my lesson with Machado. I have no expectations anymore.

Castellanos is massively overrated. If anything, the Cubs needed pitching.
