Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Thought this was thread worthy here. “The Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers have tabled trade discussions that would send center fielder Luis Robert Jr. to the Dodgers for Triple-A outfielder James Outman and a front-line prospect.” per Nightengale. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2025/04/13/mlb-free-agents-lance-lynn-vladimir-guerrero/83060198007/

White Sox making best swing decisions in MLB so far
You worded it a lot better than how I did. I lost track of how many 5, 6, 7 pitch innings opposing pitchers had last year. At least they are working counts now and putting up better at-bats on a daily basis. But like you said, these guys just aren’t that talented to begin with. Fuller can only do so much with the guys he has been given. Can’t turn them into Ohtani and Judge.

White Sox making best swing decisions in MLB so far
I disagree. This is a positive development. Making good swing decisions is a good thing no matter how you spin it. It’s just that the hitters making the swing decisions aren’t MLB caliber. But if this trend continues when the prospects come up, that will be very promising.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
I don’t think this is really a new development, but I still don’t understand what’s in it for Ishbia to wait for an indefinite period of time for the Sox when he could have just bought the Twins right now.

4/1 Game
I have to think those back issues are still a problem for Colson. I just don’t know what the solution is.

Crochet signs 6 year $170M extension
White Sox were never paying him that. Win/win trade.

Alexander Canario
I’d keep Canario over Taylor for sure. Might be a defensive downgrade, but Canario is way younger and more interesting.

Alexander Canario
Did anyone else hear this?

3/29 Games
So then why would anyone trade for him. Lol.
-
Angels/Sox 3/29...
I honestly thought Thaiss was pretty good behind the plate today outside of that one play, which you could argue was more Clevinger’s fault anyway.

Players Currently In DFA Limbo
I’d take Canario and Eguy Rosario.

Merkin really loves Will Venable
I do like the quotes he posts in his articles, but he tweets more about Michigan football and basketball than the Sox. Lol.

Drury Released, Varland Sent Down
The Drury thing makes no sense to me unless 1) his hand is completely toast or 2) this is just a procedural move and they will bring him back on a new contract. Because cutting the best hitter in the spring for what shouldn’t be a long term injury makes no sense to me otherwise.

Thorpe to get TJS per Merkin 3/22
Obviously I’m hoping it’s not a big deal, but if it is Tommy John, maybe it will actually help him add velo to his fastball.

Opening Day 26-Man Roster
I think Steven Wilson should be in the bullpen somewhere. The rest looks realistic to me.

Sox Spring Training notes
Vargas, Sosa, Drury, Vaughn from left to right. Seems straightforward to me.

Rox @ Sox Spring Breakout Gm Sunday 4 pm CHSN
Has the CHSN feed been buffering every couple minutes or is it on my end?

DVS retiring...
I went with a business degree at the time because I was undecided and thought that could give me more options down the line. Problem is I still don’t really have a direction. I just have to find something.

The next round of cuts
Yeah that’s an unfortunate one because Berroa and Larson both got hurt. But I still have hope for them. DeLoach is probably just a guy though, he probably won’t even be in the organization at this time next year.
-
The next round of cuts
I didn’t expect a whole lot in return for Bummer to begin with, but that trade has aged worse quicker than I expected.

DVS retiring...
I’m in Gurnee, so somewhere in that area would be ideal for my current situation.

DVS retiring...
I majored in business with a marketing concentration. I’ve been looking for marketing jobs but they are extremely competitive. Not sure where I should go from here.

DVS retiring...
It’s just tough to find work right now but I suppose that’s the case for a lot of fields.
-
DVS retiring...
In hindsight I should have gone to school for journalism instead of business as I enjoy it more. But I didn’t know that at the time.
-
DVS retiring...
Hey I’d do that. I’m looking for work anyway.
