  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 12:05 PM) Being a better poster than Kyyle isn't much of an achievement. LMAO.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 28, 2016 -> 04:49 PM) That wasn't anything close to a choke. Yeah, it was definitely more of a slaughtering.
  3. If he had some good Latin influences like Abreu and Melky to set him straight, I don't see any reason why Puig couldn't thrive in Chicago.
  4. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 25, 2016 -> 10:53 AM) They might be a laughingstock. It's not because of the Ballpark name though. It's pretty funny when a team that hasn't won a title in 109 years throws shade along with another one that hasn't won a title in 30 years. Good times. That's true. I almost expected the Cubs to make fun of it, as they have no class, but I was pretty surprised that the Bears commented on it too. Sox fans comprise part of their fanbase, so I'm not sure why the Bears thought it was a good idea to tweet about it when it doesn't have anything to do with them. Whatever.
  5. I'm still dumbfounded as to the stupidity of the name. It really isn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, but couldn't they have found a way to make the name/logo sound and look better? The Sox have made a laughing stock of themselves for pretty much no reason. Hell, even the Bears made fun of them on Twitter.
  6. If Abreu rakes through the end of the season, I wouldn't mind trading him in the offseason for a boatload of young studs. Abreu won't age well with his body structure, IMO.
  7. The Rodominator has been pretty studly lately. It's nice to see, especially after he struggled early on.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 23, 2016 -> 01:30 PM) Realistically the Sox have only a few options here. Taking him out of the rotation now is the worst of the moves. Your biggest goal is to pitch him until he gets through whatever is messing him up. Taking him out of the rotation makes that much harder. If you can get him into some sort of a stable recovery mode, then you either have a solid starting pitcher, or you have a trade asset. You're kidding, right? He could have a respectable ERA from now until the end of the season and no team would touch him with a 10 foot pole. Not a chance. The Sox are stuck with him.
  9. Would LA want Shields? I'd trade him for Puig in a HEARTBEAT.
  10. QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 12:30 PM) A heart arrhythmia is not a terminal illness. People can have these things and then never have another occurrence again. While that's true, he's at the age where health issues are becoming more regular. I'm worried about him.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 11:52 AM) Mully and Hanley said it on the score this morning Damn, that sucks. I hope he gets better, but it's unlikely. Say what you want about him, but it's pretty admirable that he continues to do the job he loves even with his health declining.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 09:09 AM) pretty scary that Hawks "illness" last week was a heart arrhythmia Where did you see this? That can't be good for his long term health.
  13. Pinch hitting Navarro for Narvaez made literally no sense. Putting Turner in a tie game in the 9th inning was mind blowing. #FireRobin
  14. I like Benetti. I love Hawk. Glad to see this news.
  15. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Aug 15, 2016 -> 06:25 PM) Sale's numbers have a lot of warning signs. They're not going to trade a boat load of prospects for him. And the White Sox can't afford to trade him unless they GET a boat load of prospects. What exactly do you mean by this?
  16. I don't know if I missed it or not, but is there a logical reason to call Burdi up this season? He was just drafted this year...but more importantly, the Sox aren't in playoff contention anyway. Why start up his service time now on a mediocre team when he could still be developing in the minor leagues? I just don't get it. They were arguably still in the hunt when they called up Fulmer, so that is at least a little more understandable., but this is ridiculous.
  17. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 14, 2016 -> 02:49 PM) Looking at this box score is seriously depressing. You got half the lineup with an OPS below 650 and the so called "stars" are actually just 1-3 WAR types. Only consistent player year to year on this roster is Eaton. That is sad. chris sale can go f*** himself too what an awful year he's had in every which way on and off the field. If Sale is having an awful year, I'd like to see you describe every other pitcher on the roster besides Quintana.
  18. Sale has one horrible inning every game that does him in, it's like clockwork.
  19. Great job by Sale to get out of that jam.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 11, 2016 -> 07:54 PM) No reports yet, but of course he is hurt. Because 2016. Groin strain.
  21. What happened to Gonzalez? An arm injury?
  22. This scrub has already blown 2 wins for Sale, and many others. He's a huge disappointment.
  23. What once looked like a disasterous outing by Sale now looks pretty solid. Hopefully he gets the win.
  24. Sale is unbearable to watch when he's bad.
