  1. DAMMIT. I forgot to put peanuts and bratwurst in the poll. I knew I'd forget something.
  2. Simple question. What is your favorite ballpark food at the Cell or anywhere else? And yes, I'm starving right now so that's why I made this thread.
  3. QUOTE (glangon @ Feb 16, 2016 -> 05:06 AM) I think the 1st 16 games is generally a good indicator of whether the Sox will have a winning season or not. Lets look at what has happened since 2005 - Record in the 1st 16 games 2005 - 12-4 - Winning Season 2006 - 11-5 - Winning Season 2007 - 9-7 - Losing Season 2008 - 10-6 - Winning Season 2009 - 8-8 - Losing Season 2010 - 5-11 - Winning Season 2011 - 7-9 - Losing Season 2012 - 10-6 - Winning Season 2013 - 7-9 - Losing Season 2014 - 8-8 - Losing Season 2015 - 7-9 - Losing Season If you look at the above, apart from the anomaly of the 2010 season, if we have not went at least 10-6 in the opening 16 games, then we've went on to have a losing season. This season our opening 16 games are:- Oakland (road) 4 games. Cleveland (Home) 3 games. Minnesota (road) 3 games. Rays (road) 3 games. Angels (home) 3 games. So for these 16 games to start the season, where do you see us getting 10 wins or more? Realistically, I could see the Sox splitting with Oakland, taking 2/3 against Cleveland, losing 2/3 with Minnesota, and taking 2/3 from Tampa and LA. That would put them at 9-7 after 16 games. I'd take that in a second.
  4. So, are the "Desmond to the White Sox" rumors all but dead at this point? I haven't been following this thread as much lately.
  5. Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I'm going to draft a second baseman next, as Pedroia is getting older and more injury prone. The best ones left are Ian Happ and Forrest Wall. Which one do you think would be better in a dynasty H2H points league?
  6. I just traded a draft pick for Shawn Tolleson. Here is my updated roster. C - Posey/Vogt 1B - Encarnacion/Vogt/Bell 2B - Pedroia/Lawrie SS - Russell/Escobar/Swanson/Bregman 3B - Seager/Lawrie OF - Kemp/Pence/Inciarte/Piscotty/Yelich/Escobar/Winker SP - Sale/Price/Bumgarner/Hamels/Tanaka/Quintana/Chen/Finnegan/Norris RP - Papelbon/Ramos/Street/Perkins/Tolleson I have 3 minor league draft picks left. Which positions would you try to upgrade at if you were me?
  7. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Feb 13, 2016 -> 05:18 PM) How many teams, what type of league. It's a 12 team, H2H points league. I just drafted Eduardo Escobar and Josh Bell too.
  8. So my draft is about halfway done, and so far, I've drafted Dansby Swanson, Jesse Winker, Brett Lawrie, Stephen Vogt, and Alex Bregman. C - Posey/Vogt 1B - Encarnacion/Vogt 2B - Pedroia/Lawrie SS - Russell/Swanson/Bregman 3B - Seager/Lawrie OF - Kemp/Pence/Inciarte/Piscotty/Yelich/Winker SP - Sale/Price/Bumgarner/Hamels/Tanaka/Quintana/Chen/Finnegan/Norris RP - Papelbon/Ramos/Street/Perkins Where else do you guys think I could improve my team? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  9. f***. Davis is the guy I wanted the Sox to get.
  10. I'd be ok with a Garcia/LaRoche platoon at DH, but if Avi is the full time right fielder, I'll be enraged.
  11. This forum is f***ing awesome. I wish I would've discovered it much earlier than I did.
  12. Hayes doesn't know s***. I'd take whatever he says with a grain of salt.
  13. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Feb 11, 2016 -> 07:58 PM) Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 1m1 minute ago The #WhiteSox have been publicly linked to free agent SS Ian Desmond, but one White Sox official said Thursday: "That ship has sailed.'' LMAO this **** is ridiculous. f***leberries.
  14. QUOTE (chisox802 @ Feb 11, 2016 -> 06:09 PM) Just blow up the farm system and trade Anderson and prospects for Puig I know you're kidding, but imagine this lineup: Eaton (CF) Melky (LF) Abreu (1B) Frazier (3B) Puig (RF) LaRoche (DH) Desmond (SS) Lawrie (2B) Navarro © Hot damn. That lineup would be so f***ing fun to watch.
  15. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Feb 11, 2016 -> 06:03 PM) Fixed. You gotta stop jinxing this, Mike. True lol. If the Sox get Desmond, which outfielder would they go after in a trade? It sounds like the interest in Ethier was overstated and I don't know who else would be available on the trade market.
  16. I have a feeling that something will happen soon.
  17. Sign Desmond and trade Avi, Sanchez, Danish, and Beck for Khris Davis. Eaton (CF) Melky (LF) Abreu (1B) Frazier (3B) Davis (RF) LaRoche (DH) Desmond (SS) Lawrie (2B) Navarro ©
  18. The Bulls really are in a crappy position right now. Making the playoffs as a 7 or 8 seed and losing in the first round does this team no good. Frankly, I'd start rebuilding now and trade anyone that has any semblance of value.
  19. The Latos deal is even more of a steal once I remembered what Fister got.
  20. ESPN's website is back up again. We could start the offline draft whenever now.
  21. QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 10, 2016 -> 08:13 PM) Not in exact dollars but I heard stuff on the structure and it's safe to assume they offered, on the light end, over 60 million. My point being they more money to spend than just 3M on Latos. If this is true, then the Sox will certainly have enough money for Fowler, Desmond, or Jackson even after the Latos signing.
  22. I just traded 2 draft picks for Masahiro Tanaka and dropped Greg Bird, as he'll be out for the season. My team: C - Buster Posey 1B - Edwin Encarnacion 2B - Dustin Pedroia SS - Addison Russell 3B - Kyle Seager OF - Matt Kemp, Hunter Pence, Christian Yelich, Ender Inciarte, and Stephen Piscotty SP - Chris Sale, David Price, Madison Bumgarner, Cole Hamels, Masahiro Tanaka, Jose Quintana, Wei-Yin Chen, Daniel Norris, and Brandon Finnegan RP - Jonathan Papelbon, Huston Street, A.J. Ramos, and Glen Perkins My pitching staff is set for the foreseeable future, so I'm going to focus on upgrading my offense now.
  23. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 10, 2016 -> 05:40 PM) I just hate that Fowler doesn't do anything to improve the OF defense. If he were a good defender, I'd be fine with it. He's a better defender than Avi.
  24. It's time for Hahn to swoop in and offer 3/36 to get this done.
