  1. I really don’t want Puig at all.
  2. Some teams are absolutely desperate for catching though, so this might be an opportunity for Hahn to get a decent return for a guy who is currently on a 1 year deal. Don’t get me wrong though, I’d rather keep the Grandal/McCann duo and just put Collins in AAA for the time being...but if the Sox wanted to trade either McCann or Collins, I’d pick McCann.
  3. Count me in the group that would rather trade McCann than Collins. I like McCann a lot, but it’s pretty obvious that his first half of 2019 was an anomaly. If Hahn can sell high on him, he should do it.
  4. Puig would be a lot better off signing with a team like Miami or Detroit for a year where he can rebuild his value. He won’t have that opportunity on the Sox at this point.
  5. Give me Pillar and Daniel Hudson to wrap up this offseason
  6. I don’t know what happens to Collins now, but I love this signing.
  7. Hoping that this will officially be announced tomorrow.
  8. I’m also a fan of Pillar. He’s the perfect platoon partner for Mazara. .823 OPS against lefties last year and is as good of a defender as Engel, if not better. He can also pinch run and come in defensively late in games. Sign me up.
  9. I will never understand the allure that random people have of being an “insider”
  10. Isn’t Collins’ playing time the only thing that changes with an EE signing? If anything, EE keeps the DH spot warm for a year until Vaughn is ready. I don’t really think this move would change that much in terms of the lineup.
  11. and Cubans!
  12. I didn’t even think about that, but you’re right. Eloy posted a picture with Edwin on Instagram awhile back so they must be friends.
  13. No, it really doesn’t. Encarnacion is a fantastic addition at the DH spot for a year.
  14. Who do you think they’ll get? Souza? Pence? Maybe the bench will be McCann, Collins, Leury, and whoever the Sox get to platoon with Mazara.
  15. I guess I’d be ok with Will Harris or Daniel Hudson.
  16. Betances to the Mets. That kinda sucks, I was hoping he would come to the Sox.
  17. He tweets phrases like that almost every day. Don’t think it means anything.
  18. Kole Calhoun to the Diamondbacks.
  19. How could the Cubs even afford Castellanos?
  20. I could be wrong, but I don’t think Castellanos was even that bad defensively in Wrigley. GRF is not like Comerica. I think the concerns over Castellanos’ defense are slightly overblown.
  21. Maybe the plan is: 2020: have Mazara play RF with Castellanos at DH. If Mazara does well, they’ll tender him and then trade him, allowing Castellanos to move back to RF for 2021 2021: Castellanos in RF, Abreu at DH, Vaughn at 1B
  22. Makes sense. Get Castellanos, sell high on McCann, and allow Collins to be the backup catcher.
  23. Do you think the Sox are discussing something similar with Moncada in regards to an extension?
