7-27 game thread Sox Vs Ms, looking for lucky #13
Most managers would have been fired by now but not Grifol. This whole miserable situation tells me that management is content with this losing and they don't care if the the team wins or loses. .I think their game plan is to have the lowest payroll in MLB in 2025.

The streak has reached 21. Raise a glass.
It seems to me that management is content with this losing situation. From what I can see the game plan is too have the lowest payroll in MLB for the 2025 season. 2025 should be another bad year but a very profitable one with the low payroll. In 2018 the team lost 100 games and was the 6th most profitable team in MLB with the low payroll.

Area around The United Center
JR said he would pay $200 million towards the new stadium. Keep in mind that was in the original statement. The Rays have agreed to pay for half of their new stadium in St.Pete. They are paying $600 million towards it. If JR pays for half of the new stadium (which would be $600 million his share) it will be built.

Area around The United Center
The Sun Times reported that the owners of the Bulls and Blackhawks will spend over $7 billion dollars on the area surrounding the United Center. I would think that JR will be putting in alot of money towards the new White Sox stadium in the South Loop soon.

Skubal/Orioles talk...
There are rumors that the Tigers are going to try to sign Juan Soto when he becomes a free agent.

7/21- Sox at Royals, 1:10
I'm under the impression that money is not going to be spent on players. The money will be spent on the new stadium. I'm told if the White Sox pay for half of the stadium, it will be built. The owners of the Rays have agreed to pay for half of the cost for the new stadium in St. Pete.

Crochet Trade Updates (Nightengale)
I remember after the terrible 1970 season the team traded Aparicio and Ken Berry. They still had John, Horlen, May, Melton and Wood. If they trade Robert Jr, Crochet and Fedde this team will be left with nothing but prospects.

Crochet "top" priority for LAD
i just noticed that the White Sox are giving out a Crochet Star Wars bobblehead (special ticket) on Friday August 30. Wonder what they will do with the bobbleheads if he is traded.

Brooks Baldwin called up
Glad to see that he was called up. Hopefully he will be successful and will lead us to a better second half of the season.

The official thread of second half predictions
With all the justified criticism of Maldonado I think people have overlooked how bad Michael Soroka has been. He's 0-10 with no saves and has a ERA 5.23 They keep pitching him and he can't get anybody out. Looks to me like they will continue pitching him. I actually think its possible he might finish with 20 losses. I've touched on this before but I actually feel that management doesn't care if this team keeps losing.

Fire Hahn......OH we did that.
I'm under the impression that White Sox management isn't upset over whats happened to the present team.

Crochet Trade Updates (Nightengale)
II was just hoping to be interviewed for the GM job. JR would have never forgotten it.

Crochet Trade Updates (Nightengale)
Getting Arraez for 2 years is well worth it to me. I would rather have Lopez coming out of the bullpen now than most present White Sox relievers. Keep in mind both of these payers were acquired for next to nothing.
-
Crochet Trade Updates (Nightengale)
The White Sox could have traded for Luis Arraez and Jorge Lopez. It would not have cost them that much and the team would have been better off.
-
Crochet Trade Updates (Nightengale)
Obviously not good. I would rather add good players to the team and keep Crochet and Robert Jr.
-
Crochet Trade Updates (Nightengale)
I'm afraid that both Crochet and Robert Jr are going to be traded for prospects. This will leave the team without any good players. This will be like the last 3 years of the second Bill Veeck ownership (1978-1980). There was no hope in those years and i see the same thing happening here.

Path to .500 in 2025
You add good players to the team. The White Sox could have traded for Luis Arraez and didn't. The Padres gave up next to nothing for him. I read where the Marlins are even paying part of Arraez salary. They could have had Arraez for 2 years, Would you rather have Lopez at 2nd base or Arraez? The reason why I'm not as upset as other White Sox fans are about this season is because I feel the present management doesn't care if they lose. The bullpen has been a disaster. They have blown game after game and yet management has done nothing to improve the bullpen. I think their game plan is to have one of the lowest payrolls in MLB in 2025.

Path to .500 in 2025
I agree with you. You build around your best players.

Path to .500 in 2025
Nobody is mentioning that this is the 3rd year in a row that the White Sox have the biggest payroll in the AL Central Division.

Sox/Marlins 7/7/24 GT
Every White Sox season is a good season but some seasons are better than others.

Sox/Marlins 7/7/24 GT
Former Chicago announcer Jack Brickhouse never criticised any MLB player. He always said that the players in the MLB were the greatest players in the world but some were better than others. You constantly have called the White Sox players clowns and buffoons. Obviously you think differently than Brickhouse did. Just curious, I'm under the impression you are some kind of sports announcer at some school. Do you refer to them as clowns and buffoons when they don't perform good?

Sox at Fish 7-6 3:10CDT, Crochet on the bump
I can't believe the Rays are going to build a new stadium near their present park. Is it a done deal or could they build it elsewhere?
-
Sox at Fish 7-6 3:10CDT, Crochet on the bump
Corpseball is back. That being said, Miami is not drawing anybody to their games. Their attendance has beeb bad for years. The stadium looks nice and I wonder why they are not drawing better. I read they have a lease that locks them in for many years. In other words they can't get out of the lease.

The MLB Standings
I get the feeling that the organization doesn't care if they win or lose. I can't figure what their game plan is. It seems to me they want to have the lowest payroll in MLB next season.
