This way too early mock has the Sox selecting OF Mike Sirota from Northeastern, I'm still team Konnor Griffin at the moment. Konnor Griffin, OF/SS/RHP, Jackson Prep, Flowood, Miss. Griffin possesses some of the loudest pure upside in the 2024 class. He’s a tooled up athlete with an elite, 6-foot-4, 210-pound frame with tons of strength projection remaining and he is a double-plus runner who also has plus raw power and arm strength. He has shown an ability to play both shortstop and center field with solid actions at both positions, and his underclass track record of hitting and overall bat-to-ball skills are encouraging as well. On top of his upside as a hitter, Griffin has real potential on the mound and there are some scouts who prefer him as a pitching prospect although most of the industry leans towards his upside as a hitter.

This doesn't make much sense. Picking 2 at least allows them more $ to spend in the draft while if they somehow won 85 games it would mean TONS of things went right in 2024 and make it moot that they can't pick higher than 10th in '25.

I get that he really seemed to like the Sox and enjoy his time in Chicago, but why would he want to come back and play under Pedro Boylen if (theoretically) those are his thoughts about the manager?

Jose Castro, Daryl Boston, and Chris Johnson were let go/left. I'd guess that Castro probably had more term on his deal considering he was one and done, but the Sox don't typically disclose that information for whatever reason.

Young for the class, up the middle talent, seems like an elite athlete, sign me up.
