IMO, Venable should have sent Antonacci to steal 2nd, with men on 1st and 3rd in the 10th, only one out. He allowed the double play to remain in order and they turned it.

The IL stint for Noah obviously adds to the need for starting pitchers right now. Meanwhile Getz frantically trying to plug new holes. He has his work cut out for him.

Rikuu, Antonacci, Teel, Vargas ...this team has TWTW and is going to be fun to watch. The way Rikuu ran in from RF high-stepping after his throw home was the type of thing that fires the team and the fans up.

Rikuu's skill set matches what Venable can use either coming off the bench to pinch hit, pinch run, or to spot start. Chuck Garfein's podcast proved to be insightful.

Sox were not looking to have Rikuu fill a spot in the starting line-up. The move was made to replace a bench player that has been giving off the opposite vibe. Good riddance Acuna or as the Schriff might say "get out!"

No harm no foul if that turns out to be the case but never forget, Madrigal was the Sox No. 1 pick in the Draft....a bit different scenario.

Acuna cooked his own goose by having too many non-competitive at-bats. Sergio Santos described how Nishida has had a positive impact on the team. Beyond baseball his smile is infectious and he has a great competitive attitude. Will that be enough to keep him on the roster? I don't know but I am convinced he deserves a chance. Also, he will be a great teammate and friend of Mune which will only help both of them. Credit to Cali for calling this one and to Getz for having the gorliones to make this move.

For example, Sam is an infielder playing in the OF, but he is one of the spark plugs on a team that is doing OK right now.

Yes, Nishida plays some decent D. So consider DFAing Acuna and bringing up Nishida without delay. Monday? Nishida should be able to fulfill a limited the role even if it just to pinch hit or pinch run. Mune and Nishida on the same team would at minimum be interesting. Nishida's personality is off the charts.

Love to see a new stadium North a few blocks from the Rate. Model a brick retro stadium using architectural elements from the original Wrigley and the original Comiskey. Swap the South Lot off 39th St with the Chicago Park District for the Armor Park Fieldhouse and fund a green space for the Park District there. Not sure what the current utility of the Armor Fieldhouse is, but I have driven by it a thousand times and have never seen much activity there.

More relevant is the issue of whether or not to site a stadium on the canal - I suggest watching one of the White Sox games at Oracle Park (especially if you have never been to that stadium)...then tell us how situating a proposed stadium on a narrow polluted canal makes any sense whatsoever. As of now I do not think that any of the concepts to move the White Sox to the canal hold water. (i.e., building the stadium behind the soccer field and repurposing the railroad bridge for pedestrians to walk there?) Perhaps the proposed future White Sox Chairman should take some time to consider all alternatives. Consider,for example, that moving the WSox could adversely impact attendance and in the long run, jeopardize the franchise. Does Ishbia think that most Sox fans will take mass transit or want to drive into the S Loop? Maybe sign a new 5 year lease with the ISFA instead of succumbing to what appears to be some self-imposed pressure to act immediately (like entering into a contingent contract with Amtrak not even considering how that would impact Bridgeport and Armor Park. Has Ishbia ever met with local residents and businesses about a potential move? At minimum, a new lease will provide enough time to calmly and properly consider alternatives including one that seems far more realistic and practical - i.e., building a new stadium on the site of the current Armor Square Fieldhouse on 33rd St. I know, you (dislike) the current stadium and location. What area do you live in (how you do travel to the park (car, bus or train) how many games each year do you attend)?

I think his purported reason relating to his views about the new owners was questionable and I took it more as a parting shot. Harry's decision was swayed by a meeting with a Tribune executive who emphasized the value of the nationwide exposure of WGN as compared to a minimal audience of local cable subscribers. The decision was a no brainer. The late Eddie Einhorn (not Reinsdorf) was the one who sought to monetize cable subscriptions which killed off a large segment of the White Sox fan base. That whole ON TV subscription service which required decoding boxes was a sham. Many, many baseball fans across Chicago and beyond refused to jump through hoops to get a decoder box and watch very low quality broadcasts. That really fvked the White Sox fan base for generations to follow. I recall my parents , long time White Sox fans, just turning on Channel 9 after that and watching Harry and the Cubs. I soldered together a pirated ON TV decoding kit just because I refused to switch allegiance to the Cubs and pay for what should have been and always was free.
