I understand and appreciate Sam's aggressive style of play, but The three controversial plays he was involved with made him look more foolish than anything. Even Ozzie would not defend Sam dropping a ground ball to start a double play or standing in the base path between second and third. Beckham likewise did not understand why Sam tried to get to third with no outs in the first inning and was tagged out easily. Sam needs to use his noggin a bit more.

IMO, the entire concept of the WBC is flawed. Roman Anthony and other Americans with strong familial ties to other countries played for Team USA (LOL about Anthony). Recall that elimination game in Florida where there appeared to be more fans rooting for Venezuela. The WBC will probably go on, but a lot of MLB players should be reticent to participate. (and there are restrictions on insurance for injuries in their player contracts) Perhaps citizenship rules comparable to the Olympic games (players must be a national of the country they represent) should minimally be implemented. Otherwise the thing is a joke. I think there was some utility in allowing mlb players to express pride in their native country. However, in the current political climate, some people might not have even appreciated that.

I love Antonnaci's aggressive style of play even though some of it looks a bit forced or even foolish in hindsight. In that sense, he reminds me of how "Charlie Hustle" Pete Rose played the game. Of course I am not excusing his gambling, but Rose was a tremendous competitor that took every extra base he could and played with a winning attitude. And he could care less what anyone else thought about him or his style of play.

Derek Hill has earned the back-up outfielder spot. I don't see how Acuna is still on the roster. I was hoping Venable would never start him at all, let alone in CF. Having said that, I guess the more Acuna is out there, the better his chances are to figure things out.

I don't get the exercise in that post if indeed Teel was doing that after the hamstring injury. The movement seemed way too violent, stressful, and unnecessary. Nothing like resting an injured leg, at least in order to allow healing time. As far as the merits of Teel's diet and rehab., proof is in the pudding. See him around the All-Star break assuming no more tweaks and set-backs..

Edgar's walk-off celebration down the 3rd base line had some elements of Kash Patel's drunken celebration after the US Hockey team championship. Really intense, but Edgar, at least, deserved it.

Fisk was a taller catcher that was not muscle bound but had a lot of flexibility and cat-like quickness behind the plate. As an old White Sox fan, I always admired his abilities behind the plate. Teel focused on weight lifting and gained 20 pounds in the off-season, in part due to eating sub sandwiches at his Godfather's deli. Kyle said he did it to gain more power, but that had to make him a tad slower and had to put a bit more strain on the legs.

Edgar isn't going to remain on the roster too long if he hits below .200 and can't throw runners out anymore. The home run though has given him a longer leash...that and a possible knee injury to Teel. But he still sucks.

I tore an ACL in high school when my cleat stuck so I hope that didn't happen to Teel.
