I am working on giving my tickets to the Opener away to some friends since we can't go Friday. I consider it as a sunken cost for being a loyal Sox fan for a few decades. I imagine that there will be a lot of empty seats for the delayed Opener on Friday. Another shot in the nuts.

Imagine there are plenty of Sox fans with flaming derrieres, blue balls, busted balls, passed balls, pass balls, past balls, whatever, in part because of the apparent lack of energy or attention to detail by some of our players/pitchers, the stoic duck billed Manager peering out of the dugout, and that clip of Getz squirming uncomfortably like he had hemorrhoids or something up in some box seat in Milwaukee.

Some here were cocksure that Acuna would be the CFer this season, I guess by default. . Dude lacks basic outfield skills...same as Baldwin. Not sure why Acuna's lack of arm strength was not noted by Venable and the coaches during ST. Acuna is a butcher on defense and is not good enough to displace any player on the roster, unless he can possibly pitch. I do not enjoy being so negative about The Sox but it's time for a few heads to roll.

Looking at the schedule, I was concerned about a slow start and made a post about that. Now coming into Chicago with the rain for the Opener against the Jays....This is depressing for us fans.

Right behind him is not the best position for the diminutive infielder to make a catch. Look, he isn't an outfielder, never was and never will be.

Acuna was no where near catching the ball. Look, he's not an outfielder. How many bad plays do we need to figure that out? 3 in one inning allowing the Marlins to turn the game around?

Venable out-managed, over and again. LH reliever struck out two lefties, then Venable allows Benny to bat and whiff on the same sweeper trash. Not a good in-game Manager. Acuna is a butcher in CF. Two errors and interfered with the RFer making him miss...all in the same critical and possibly decisive inning. Maybe try Tristan Peters out there.

Over many years...I have NEVER tuned in or out of a game because of an announcer. I want to watch baseball, not listen to BS.

I have watched enough games to form my own opinions and tune out announcers, especially old guys like Stone who repeat themselves ad nauseum. Hey, Andrew Vaughn was the best hitter in college. Really now? Hawk and Harry were brash and entertaining, Bennetti was an insufferable nerd, and Schriff is a young man who is awkward at times. He tries too hard to please fans and critics. Some folks will never give him a fvking break. The announcer should not be an issue, at least for people who know and enjoy baseball and don't need to be entertained by a clown like Harry or be titillated with trivia or arcane side stories. Can Stone demonstrate his grip on a circle change again ?

Ant with a couple more HR in AAA. McDougal throwing well there too.

The rule that limits pick-off attempts to two should be changed, IMO, but anyway, it seems the WSox didn't work on holding runners on. McGuire was a terrible signing. He doesn't fit in with this team and, as noted, has some sexual / mental issues that led to an arrest for indecent exposure. Getz is out of control making foolish transactions and should be fired. Too many bad moves and multiple signings of substandard talent. The prime years of our best players (Mune, Colson, Teel) are being wasted by being on a perennial last place team with substandard players and pitchers.

I was concerned about a tough start and I think it is going to get worse. Venable is no better than Grifol. I think Getz needs to answer for the expenditure of 1.25 Million for McGuire. Throwing out a Million bucks? Geezus bring up Ant for LF and pay him a fraction of that.

I did predict about 100 losses. Unless several changes are made, that is what we could be looking at again.
