  1. What would the plan be to hold Giolito accountable after he gave up 6 in the first two innings ? I'm worried about the big fatass' next start too. Bad starts are going to burn out this bullpen.
  2. Eloy has been trying to rehab his leg for a while after surgery on the hamstring. He has been experiencing some tightness or pain in that leg since he started rehab in Charlotte. My hope is that the injury/rehab issue is resolved, but so far, that does not seem to be the case. I wonder if the continued pain and tightness in that leg is a result of a surgery that was somehow not successful . Another possibility that has been already discussed here, is that the training staff and management decided to bring him back to soon. Eloy of not fat but if I were him I would try to cut some weight to take some pressure off the leg. He looked like a stud in the outfield in that Futures game when he was lighter. Sox need Eloy and Grandal in the line-up hitting home runs.
  3. Sox need to put the players they already have on the field at the same time before they start trading them off.
  4. Most will eventually learn that even life itself owes them nothing. .
  5. Two....One to cover the no 5 spot in case Lynn continues to fail and another in the event Kopech hits a wall with the amount of innings he is able to pitch.
  6. Two or three stud starting pitchers can help to carry a team in the playoffs. We have one - Cease.
  7. Sox need a few starters and a LH reliever more than they need a LH hitter. IMO.
  8. How many games have you attended in the last three years? I'm asking because I am wondering how familiar you might be with some of the issues you are opining about. Have you ever driven from the South suburbs to the North side in order to attend a Cubs game. If you have, trust me. that makes driving to 35th and Shields, parking , and walking to the stadium like a walk in the park.
  9. The demographics of Chicago have changed since white flight gained momentum in the late 1960's / early 1970's. Whites now make up less than 50% of Chicago residents. So many businesses moved out of the city limits as many Chicago neighborhoods, especially those South and West of Chicago were hollowed out. Some older posters here that were raised in Chicago and whose parents moved to the suburbs are familiar with this. In order to stem white flight, City of Chicago Police, Firemen and City Employees were required maintain residence within the City limits. That stabilized neighborhoods like Beverly, Mount Greenwood, and Ashburn on the South Side. The tide of disinvestment has turned since those days in some areas of the City including areas from the South Loop to Brideport. Gentrification and reinvestment are slowly strengthening those areas. Moving the White Sox out of Chicago would be so 1970's, IMO. The Reinsdorf family has wisely acquired more real estate surrounding the stadium for parking and possibly for future development. The current stadium is still in good condition and could conceivably last for a few more decades with proper maintenance. Some fans that post here have may not even have been to a WSox home game in years while others are not familiar with the development of the South Loop and the gentrification of surrounding areas.
  10. The starting rotation that was expected to be one of the best has not panned out. Lynn has been awful. Keuchel was terrible. Kopech has been inconsistent and may not have enough innings in his arm to last the rest of the season. This is a team that was expected to compete for the Division and they probably will despite injuries to key players and under performance by others. Beyond that lie unrealistic fan expectations. No, the WSox are not going to beat Houston, the Yankees and the Dodgers to win it all even if they make the play-offs. It is what it is. Personal vendettas against management are just that and won't change the facts.
  11. There isn't enough season left after the ASB for Lynn to find the fountain of youth . As Chuck Garfein pointed out, Lynn's last 3 games were losses to Central Division opponents. I feel the same way I felt watching Keuchel in his last few starts for the White Sox when Lynn pitches. Substandard pitches in terms of speed and spin rate that get hit hard when they find the strike zone. Hahn can let Lynn have a few more starts like this, but again, it may be too late to come back after a few more key losses.
  12. Should have pulled fatazz when it was 3-0. You are not going to win too many games when your starter gives up 3 HR.
  13. Fatass Lynn is going to serve up a lot more gopher balls until the Sox get rid of him.
  14. 3/4 against the Twins going into the ASB takes all pressure off Sox management including Tony. It doesn't matter what else you think. It's all about wins and losses and competing for the Division lead.
  15. Lots of animosity toward Eloy.
  16. Somebody suggested trying Robert in RF and having Engel in CF to start some games. It was mocked at the time but maybe it wasn't such a crazy idea. Engel is really great in CF and at robbing HR at the wall. Robert at times gets alligator arms when he approaches the wall. Not knocking his overall defense, but more about maybe using Engel before the last 2 innings to improve defense.
  17. I don't think Eloy is excessively overweight or out of condition. He is 6'4" tall and as strong as a bull. He doesn't have a gut like Kirk or Naylor or heavy torso/legs like Vaughn or Burger. This kid has been slammed on this forum for everything he has done. Yes, some criticism is justified and can be useful, but a lot of it is just garbage. I suspect Eloy's surgery left him with a hamstring that is still somewhat compromised...at least for athletic purposes. It looks to me like Eloy needs daily physical therapy on that hamstring until he can run without fear that it pops or tears again. Until then, he probably should not be in the line-up.
  18. 88 is a bad mu-tha___ shut your mouth, Shaft, can you dig it.
  19. Eloy had fuking surgery on his leg. Same surgery and same Dr that Grandal had...and they have both had trouble rehabbing it. Eloy was grabbing the back of his leg the day before and trying to stretch out the hamstring.
  20. We had 5 lock down starters in 2005 and close to a lock down bullpen in the play-off run. Our 2022 line-up is overrated and are close to last in mlb in home runs. Bad team, bad Manager and bad coaches. Start at the top but don't stop there.
  21. Tony should and likely will be fired but that won't do much for the team or for fans that had and have inflated and unrealistic expectations for a very mediocre team. The Sox are what I thought they were....a 3rd Place team in the Central. These guys are not the Yankees.
  22. Gio pitching for his pocket book, so it should be a good start. Sox need to be patient at the plate. Take some pitches and get some walks.
  23. You are a liar and I am convinced that may go beyond your posts at this site. Just stop.
  24. Chris Getz would be a logical choice for interim Manager beginning after the ASB. That would be my guess.
  25. They displayed a spray chart of Cleveland's hit balls in the post-game.The amount of ground balls Cleveland hit up the middle made it apparent that they were executing a game plan and it worked. Compare the Guardians first inning compared to the Sox disastrous 7th inning, (where Pollock and Leury G led off with hits and the Sox went down in 6 pitches) . The Guardians were also running out ground balls against an infield defense that was playing a few steps too deep. Also compare the WSox base running to Cleveland's. . It has been terrible this season in many respects. What happened to the concept of "grinding" out at-bats? Why is Zavala first pitch swinging with 2 on and nobody out in a game where we are down by 4 runs in the 7th? It is never too late to learn from mistakes.
