All I Want For Christmas
Vaughn and Collins to the Cubs for Madrigal, Contreras , and Happ and then sit back and watch heads explode. LOL. Wear masks and stay safe as Omicron is spiking. Merry Christmas and tidings of joy to the White Sox organization and to all fellow White Sox fans and their families. Lennon - And so this is Christmas

Where could Kimbrel be traded, and for what?

Where could Kimbrel be traded, and for what?
An appropriate response to a post that called my comments silly. And there you go again...

Where could Kimbrel be traded, and for what?
Well stated.

Where could Kimbrel be traded, and for what?
Is Vaughn a player that you think should be deemed off limits to any team that may want to make a trade for him ?

Where could Kimbrel be traded, and for what?
Your post is provocative, well off the mark, and unnecessary. Your accusation of bias is based on false assumptions. I evaluate [players, including Vaughn, based on their statistics and what I see of them in person when I attend games. I posted a link where Vaughn discussed his closeness with his people, including old teammates at Cal. No surprise, Vaughn lived in California and may still live there. If so, he would be no different that any other major league player who wants to spend as much time with their friends and family as possible. Another fact: The NL could adopt the DH making Vaughn a more valuable trade chip. Players like Lux or Cody Bellinger could be trade targets. Both of them had up and down seasons with the Dodgers. They are both pretty decent. Vaughn for Cody Bellinger? I would be pleased with that trade for several reasons having nothing to do with bias. Do you think Vaughn is better than Bellinger or that Vaughn would be a better fit in RF? If Bellinger and/or Lux were on the table I would be pleased if the Sox included ( "threw in" as you phrased it) Kimbrel.... provided that the Dodgers paid his 16 Million salary and included another player or a prospect. I am just floating possible trade scenarios ... no different than any other fan does at this time of the year wishing to engage in friendly conversation.

I didn't say anything that foolish. You did. Obviously there would be comparable talent exchanged for any player included in a Kimbrel trade. You should let your little vendetta against me go.

Where could Kimbrel be traded, and for what?
Sept 9. 2021 story about Sox playing at Oakland: "(Vaughn) greeted the Cal baseball team Wednesday night, still young enough to have played with some of its current members during his own college days. But mostly, he was thrilled to show the people he loves, in person, that his dream came true. "They're proud of me," he said. "So many people had an impact on my career that were able to come out. Just to be able to thank them has been really special. "They're my people, they're my favorite people, and it doesn't matter what level I'm at, it's just great to see them under any circumstance." ------------ Yea, Vaughn might not mind coming home to CA. Perhaps a package of Kimbrel plus Vaughn might net a few decent players from the Dodgers.

Justin Verlander re-signs in Houston
I agree. Would you be satisfied with Rodon as that starter?

5 year anniversary of the start of the rebuild
I was quite upset about the Madrigal trade the moment I heard about it. You cannot replace a talent like that by trading Kimbrel. There were a few here like SS2K that were of the opinion that Kimbrel would virtually guarantee a WS championship but not too many want to back Hahn for trading Madrigal any more. Hahn blew a hold in the infield that he cannot plug.

Now that Sox have totally wet the bed
You aren't the problem because you disagree with them.

The MLB lockout is lifted!
All of us, including sports fans have been through enough with the pandemic the past few years so the Owners and Players need to settle up and get back to the normal business of baseball.

The MLB lockout is lifted!
"The basic and fundamental problem is shown on this page in the tweet SSHM shared. Over the past 20 years, baseball’s revenue has tripled. However, the earnings of the players have not tripled " That is not a problem, and that from someone who is not a capitalistic political ideologue. There is no sound reason for 1:1 revenue sharing between players and owners, an arrangement which would mirror the dreaded "socialism" which RW media use as a meme against opposing political factions. Ownership has a vested interest in the continued success of the franchise, responsibilities to current and former players, organization staffing, marketing, security, taxes, insurance etc.. Major league players do pretty well for themselves for men in their 20's and 30's. They are entitled to be paid fairly and paid well, but team profit should not be the measuring stick to determine their level of compensation.

Chris Taylor Resigns with the Dodgers
I know, but the Dodgers expressed frustration with Lux and Bellinger at certain points last season, and hey, they have Taylor for second and Mookie for Right, so it's not like they would be left with any holes to fill.
-
Chris Taylor Resigns with the Dodgers
Precisely what I had been thinking even before they signed Taylor. Not sure that a 3 player package of Kimbrel, Keuchel and Vaughn gets a deal for Lux and Bellinger done but I'd start there. Second base and RF solved in one deal. OK, pinch me, I was dreaming.

White Sox sign Leury Garcia to 3 year deal
There are some forum addicted know-it-all posters that seemingly relish in oneupmanship. It is too bad that they dominate the forum at times and try to grind down and embarass posters for sport. Anyway, I respect all Sox fans including those who have different opinions. In fact, I like hearing different opinions which is why I read this forum. My own opinion is that signing Leury was a reasonable move. He provides flexibility for TLR to use him at various positions and against RH or LH pitching since he is a switch hitter. He has shown surprising power and while he has had injuries, he is relatively durable. I don't know this for a fact, but Leury must be an affable player that players and management respect and like having on the team.

Adam Frazier traded to Mariners
You should remove the quotes pal.

Adam Frazier traded to Mariners
LOL. So Bellinger or Vaughn. You would rather have Vaughn in RF?
-
Adam Frazier traded to Mariners
Some fans think that is Vaughn's ceiling. Kimbrel plus Vaughn should bring back a player or two of intrerest, especially if NL adopts the DH and the Dodgers don't sign Jansen who is 34.
-
Adam Frazier traded to Mariners
That's why I'd like to see him on the Sox babe.
-
Adam Frazier traded to Mariners
Gamblers often double down on bad bets. If the Sox do not sign Semien they can still seek trade for a 2B or LH hitting RFer, Perhaps the Dodgers could be a trade partner for Lux and/or Cody Bellinger

You nailed it Two Gun Pete. You served the Nashville Hot Chicken Connoisseur a serving of cold turkey today. David Ross replaced Kimbrel as Closer midseason 2020. David Ross and Hoyer had lost confidence in him after a rocky 2020 season and again during Spring Training in 2021. Hahn gambled on the trade and lost. If this was a Free Agent acquisition that did not cost Madrigal and Heuer, it could be defended as a costly dice roll, but, like the trade for James Shields that cost Tatis Jr. it was beyond risky. Actually if was foolhardy, and it hurts, to wit: " In the end, there is really no debate no matter how you want to put it. The ‘set-up man’ of Craig Kimbrel should live in infamy of White Sox fans heads for a decent amount of time. It feels good to get a much needed win in a cross-town trade after, well you know, the Jose Quintana deal… " https://cubbiescrib.com/2021/10/16/chicago-cubs-undisputed-winners-craig-kimbrel-trade/ ouch. That hurts and will continue to as long as Madrigal and Heuer continue to contribute for the Cubs.

I never said "they blew that evaluation on Lynn" but they did blow it on Kimbrel champ. " I mean, it’s pretty obvious Kimbrel was going to collapse well before we acquired him. " LOL. Actually some predicted his decline. The Story Behind Craig Kimbrel's Sudden and Bizarre Decline You sound angry. Amirite? Are you angry?

Same analysis used by the same people when they traded Madrigal and Heuer for a guy with "shutdown sh1t." When will they ever learn, when will they e----ver-r learn?
