  1. Hysterical. The Sox will be closer to 100 losses next year than 90 wins
  2. Questionable. He also has less control, is an inferior athlete and will he expensive soon.
  3. Of course not. I have zero faith in them to develop Eder without arm trouble either though.
  4. If he does find a way to better his approach and take walks the Sox will end up losing this trade by a mile.
  5. Yep, plenty of talent and they are also generating way more chances than their opponents but they just can't finish or make the right plays in the final 1/3 enough. Their defense has been incredibly stout though as the Netherlands and Portugal really only generated about 3 total chances between the two games (with the Netherlands finishing one of about 2 chances and Portugal finishing about their only real chance of the entire game).
  6. It is really really hard to see how Kopech ever turns into a good starting pitcher. His command is still awful but his stuff isn’t special anymore either.
  7. Baseball should really get rid of divisions. Zero point to them in this day and age and it’s pathetic that a trash team like the Twins or Guardians are going to make the playoffs.
  8. It’s a good return for a mediocre relief pitcher (and all the returns have been solid on paper) but my concern is that all of the prospects they are getting back either have been worse this year than prior years or have stagnated.
  9. Yikes. So a 25 year old without a bat that profiles at a position other than catcher and apparently can’t play defense. It’s for Graveman so whatever, but yeah, can see why he’d see a huge drop in the rankings.
  10. There is no plan. They are going to be terrible but rush middling prospects like Nastrini, Bush, Thompson etc to the majors before they are ready hurting their development to try to save face with the fans.
  11. They won’t go far if they do but they still have a real shot at their 6th playoff berth in 8 seasons (so one less than the white Sox have had since 1960) and that is with 3 rookies in their starting rotation and their best pitcher basically not pitching this season.
  12. The Sox rotation is going to be comically bad next year. And it isn’t like they have any pitching prospects outside of Schultz who is super far away that really project as more than back of rotation starters. Yay for maybe competing in 2026.
  13. Bucks and Brewers sound like good replacements for the Sox and Bulls. f*** Jerry Reinsdorf
  14. I’m sad but I still haven’t taken my kids to their first White Sox game (not counting spring training). 2020 wiped out one chance and then LaRussa and some family stuff made 2021 not happen and I’ve had zero interest in giving Reinsdorf any money since (also why I haven’t been to a Bulls game in 5+ years despite splitting season tickets for Bulls games for years prior to 2017).
  15. I don’t think people realize how truly terrible the talent level is on this squad. This is a Royals/As level team if you remove Robert after the Giolito trade.
  16. I’m skeptical of Quero being a true impact talent. Good return on paper for Giolito but Montgomery and Schultz are potential stars. I’d be really surprised if Quero reaches that level, especially with the Sox and his defense needs to get way way better to even make it a possibility.
  17. The tough part about this rebuild is that other than Robert there isn’t a single good player in the majors that will be around (or at least should be) past next year and there isn’t a lot of premium talent in the minors and the two that they have (in Schultz and Montgomery) are a ways off and who knows how they develop and even if they do, do we really think the Sox organization will have enough depth around them to be good?
  18. Anderson is 30 and has always been reliant on bat speed and athleticism over working counts, getting a good pitch to hit. With him lifting the ball less, losing some athleticism and his generally not great approach I won’t be surprised at all if he’s never all that good again. And I’d be shocked if Moncada is ever good again
  19. They can pitch it however they want but this is a rebuild. The roster is absolutely horrendous for next year and they aren’t going to increase salary so they are rebuilding. Anderson is the only bounce back candidate as well.
  20. They are rebuilding. There is exactly one legitimately really good position player on the roster and they have one legitimate starting pitcher for next year. They are going to be absolutely terrible.
  21. Middleton is terrible. The Sox got a lucky couple months out of him and he reverted back to who he is
  22. Joe Ryan continues to be a total disaster since mid June. Another bad performance today and he can’t keep the ball in the yard. 13 home runs over his last 6 starts now.
  23. Yep. Lost Abreu who was their best bat from last year (he sucks this year but they still lost their best hitter and replaced with nothing) and their 2nd best pitcher from last year who was a total fluke walked as well. They brought in a shitty always injured 5th starter in Clevinger and then decided they would rely on Eloy (lol) to stay healthy. Add in some not shocking regression from Cease and Anderson falling off badly (which really started last year with his total loss of power) and here you are even with Luis Robert having a fantastic year.
  24. 100%. This team has a terrible pitching staff, awful depth and a lineup with only one great hitter, maybe 2 other above average hitters and a number of guys who either suck defensively or are playing out of position or both. Grifol has been bad but the issues we are seeing really are because of the front office.
  25. At some point the Sox will stop playing infielders who aren’t even good hitters corner outfielders
