  1. I'm guessing it is partially related to the fact he is absolutely abysmal against the run so isn't an every down player. He is really really good at rushing the passer though which the Bears need.
  2. Yep, I said elsewhere but I would 100% have preferred Verlander with the Mets paying down a good portion of his contract to Cease. If Cease's stuff deteriorates further next year I'm not even convinced he will be a solid starter with his command.
  3. This roster is so freaking pathetic. They legitimately have good one position player and one legitimate starting pitcher going into next year.
  4. They have one legitimate starter going into next season.
  5. No home runs but they actually hit balls hard against him. Last inning all 3 balls that were hits were hit extremely weakly.
  6. 3 absurdly weakly hit balls all find holes. Way too often the last couple of years that is the only way the Sox can score multiple runs in an inning with this year the only exceptions being Burger or Robert home runs.
  7. They brought in Dunning, Giolito, Kopech, Cease and Lopez last time and had Fulmer who was still who still highly regarded. Way more pure talent in that group than what they brought in and have in the system right now.
  8. Lol, yep. A nice 60 game regular season facing only trash AL and NL Central opponents with a pitching staff that was already on fumes by the end of that season and then a nice regular season in 2021 before they were completely destroyed by the Astros in a non-competitive series.
  9. Also why have Andrus and Grandal not been designated for assignment yet? Horrible baseball players. Let Sosa start playing every day. I’m sure he sucks but start evaluating him.
  10. Unbelievably bad and I won’t be surprised at all it Cease declines next year. Have seen some signs of that this year and if his stuff drops off again next year like it did this year he won’t be any good.
  11. We have no bats outside of Robert either beyond next season unless Eloy magically becomes good and healthy (I won't hold my breath). The entire offense next year is banking on Anderson returning to form (and if he does he is a free agent and gets a big deal, Moncada being good and healthy (lol, zero chance), Jimenez being healthy and good, and Vaughn not being a bad (I'd be shocked). The entire organization is devoid of talent. We now have ok minor league pitching but I'm still not particularly high on it and our position players in the minors leave a lot to be desired (although I love Montgomery). It is going to take extreme luck and good development for the Sox to be competitive any time soon.
  12. Hysterical. The Sox will be closer to 100 losses next year than 90 wins
  13. Questionable. He also has less control, is an inferior athlete and will he expensive soon.
  14. Of course not. I have zero faith in them to develop Eder without arm trouble either though.
  15. If he does find a way to better his approach and take walks the Sox will end up losing this trade by a mile.
  16. Yep, plenty of talent and they are also generating way more chances than their opponents but they just can't finish or make the right plays in the final 1/3 enough. Their defense has been incredibly stout though as the Netherlands and Portugal really only generated about 3 total chances between the two games (with the Netherlands finishing one of about 2 chances and Portugal finishing about their only real chance of the entire game).
  17. It is really really hard to see how Kopech ever turns into a good starting pitcher. His command is still awful but his stuff isn’t special anymore either.
  18. Baseball should really get rid of divisions. Zero point to them in this day and age and it’s pathetic that a trash team like the Twins or Guardians are going to make the playoffs.
  19. It’s a good return for a mediocre relief pitcher (and all the returns have been solid on paper) but my concern is that all of the prospects they are getting back either have been worse this year than prior years or have stagnated.
  20. Yikes. So a 25 year old without a bat that profiles at a position other than catcher and apparently can’t play defense. It’s for Graveman so whatever, but yeah, can see why he’d see a huge drop in the rankings.
  21. There is no plan. They are going to be terrible but rush middling prospects like Nastrini, Bush, Thompson etc to the majors before they are ready hurting their development to try to save face with the fans.
  22. They won’t go far if they do but they still have a real shot at their 6th playoff berth in 8 seasons (so one less than the white Sox have had since 1960) and that is with 3 rookies in their starting rotation and their best pitcher basically not pitching this season.
  23. The Sox rotation is going to be comically bad next year. And it isn’t like they have any pitching prospects outside of Schultz who is super far away that really project as more than back of rotation starters. Yay for maybe competing in 2026.
