Maybe the Sox should offer to tear up his contract. It might keep him in a Sox uniform for 4-5 years if he gets 25-30 million a year starting immediately.

Sam Zavala playing well at Birmingham so far. He can play all 3 outfield spots. Turns 22 in July. He might still turn into something.

King was really solid those years. I think Hibbard and Mcdowell got their feet wet around that time as well. p.s. The Sox had cool uniforms at that time. I refer to the late 80's as the Gary Redus era. Not much good happened then, but we looked good !!

Went to Glendale for 4 days. I actually saw JR pull up to the front gate at camelback on a golf cart. He doesn't look like the 90 year olds i've known. Having lots of cash really helps retard the aging process. At least on the outside. Went to Sox/Cubs opener in Mesa with my Cubs fan Brothers in law. Pretty sweet game. Saw Sox beat the Brewers at the ranch. Camelback really is pretty great. The wife and I might go back without the relatives in a year or two.

Damn, you have to wonder about 1972. One more quality starter might have done it. A's beat us by 5 games. Then they blew everyone else away in the playoffs. Wilbur Wood RIP started almost 50 games that year and faded in the second half.
