Just saying it looks to me that they are going in house, and Leury is the insurance policy. Wouldn't mind it if means Marcus Stroman is
added to the starting rotation.
Why spend 5 million a year on a back up? in case Romy and Gavin and Jake fail. You wouldn't spend that kind of money for a
back up if you sign Semian or Taylor or Conforto. At least the Sox wouldn't.
Nailed it. Love the guy, but the cost is too high. Whoever ponies up will get a really good player and team mate. They'll probably regret the last couple
of years on his contract as well.
I can understand why. If Romy fails, you plug in Taylor. If Yoan gets hurt, you plug in Taylor. If any one else needs a day or two off,
you plug in Taylor. Conforto is a one position guy, basically.
Kind of hope we stand pat on the offensive side except at catcher. I have a feeling that our holes
can be handled internally in the field and on offense. We need a starting pitcher and another reliever.
Romy Gonzalez could be a real sleeper. That Taylor guy on the Dodgers would be a huge upgrade from Leury.
Yan Gomes would be a huge upgrade at back up catcher. We have an excellent core, and just need supporting
pieces.
I might have taken the Qo if I were Conforto. Winning a Home Run contest is one thing. Getting hurt and having a lousy year
is something else altogether.
Let me get this straight. We're thinking of spending 16 million for Kimbrall, and thinking about not offering Rodon 18.4 million.
If it happens this way, every one in the FO should be fired.
