I'd rather sign Yan Gomes than anyone else. We're thin at catcher. Between Vaughn, Eloy, Burger, Sheets and Engel We can get by on the corners.
Of course if Robert gets hurt again, it could get ugly real quick.
We spent 5 million and Madrigal and Heuer for a lousy reliever. Spending 21 million and Madrigal and Heuer for the same lousy reliever is in my opinion
worse.
I dunno. He's in his 80's which is pretty old, even for team owners. Does he still hold sway over the other owners
like he did 10-15 years ago. Of course, there are plenty of Darth Vaders in that group even with out JR.
I'll admit JR's hiring of TLR really bothered me even more than all the other stuff in the past. It took a lot of fun out of the season
for me, and because of that I watched a lot less. On the plus side, if we get swept part of me won't be nearly as sad as usual be-
cause TLR will look even stupider. Imagine being out managed by Dusty Baker.
When the trade came down, I said on one of the threads, I wasn't sure if I would have traded Codi Heuer straight up for him. Let alone Madrigal too.
Really looks horrible now.
My feeling is MW will never pitch for the Sox again. Walking that guy on a 3-2 pitch with a pitch that missed by 2 feet, and then
plunking the next guy sealed his fate. 5-6 years in the Bigs, and never so much as just a so-so season. We could have used his spot
with an organization guy like Kyle Kubat, and not have done worse than this joker.
Sox will go as Lance Lynn goes in the playoffs. He hasn't looked good for a while now. His control has been lousy since he whipped
his belt at the umps.
Bringing in Jace Fry is a silly move if the goal was to win this game. He has always been lousy and he always will be lousy. A sense of urgency doesn't
seem to be in TLR's agenda. Only 11 games left to get some momentum. The 2005 team didn't start to win until game 157 though. Hopefully there
is still time.
Tough call on 2B starter in playoffs. Leury will have the occasional brain fart. Cesar really looks lost, and also seems not to care.
I'd go with LG if they let me choose.
Might have to throw in $1 billion in cash. Seriously, do the Sox think Romy is the answer at 2B. He's an interesting prospect. If
they do they'll turn down Cesars option. Several 2B options in FA. None of them are better than Cesar if he just reverts to his
normal level of play.
