I think the distinction is he is saying its too early to say we lost the trade as if it were fact. To support that claim, he says he personally believes they won. If a reasonable person can argue they won the trade, its not a fact that the sox lost the trade.

Also, I think I saw someone mention race/whiteness being some factor in being called a leader. That's absurd. Maldanado, Abreu, Grandal, TA were all called "leaders" at some point in the last few years. This is baseball. There is a lot of dumb s%*# that people say. Anyone who is over 27 and goes to a bad team will be called a "leader" unless they have some notable behavior issues that are public. It's like if someone was upset because they kept acquiring guys who "give 110%" because it will lead to exhaustion and injury. Its all nonsense.

He would have had the best OPS+ on the team last year except for Moncada who played like 8 games. He'll be the new Tommy Pham. Just because someone is described as being a vet or having leadership qualities doesn't mean they are all Maldanado. Again, they suck and they will suck again next year. If Tauchman is in the top 10 things to complain about next year, something has gone right.

While I wouldn't need guys ready to play on opening day, I also wouldn't love a package of 18 year olds if I could have my choice. It'd be nice to get guys in AA. At least then you can squint and see some type of core forming with two good AA prospects for Crochet, Montgomery, Quero, Schultz, Smith, Ramos... and then guys like Wolkow and Bonemer and others following a year or two later.

This would shock me. Like Y2J says, they already carry the new station's predecessor. How hard would it be to agree to new terms? Yeah because its not going to be a channel at all anymore. The thought of the majority of people needing to get the channel over the antenna is bonkers to me. That's just not how most people watch TV in 2024. Live sports is keeping old school TV and cable alive. How could there not be a deal in place for a channel showing 3 of the 5 professional teams in the 3rd largest market in the country?

My favorite one is when half of you will argue Seby Zavala was bad and an indictment of Chris Getz' development ability but the other half will argue Getz fucked up by not bringing Seby Zavala back at minimum salary.
