  1. My thoughts. He’s basically a non entity outside of the south side of Chicago. He’s probably the third best shortstop in Chicago.
  2. I don’t think he said zero chance. Of course mathematically, by dumb luck you would have expected the White Sox to have appeared in three World Series in the 42 years Reinsdorf has owned the team. So his failure to do this May in fact imply a zero percent chance of winning from here on out. KC has been in three and won two. Cleveland has been in three. Minnesota has been in two and won two. Detroit has been in three and won once. From the old AL West Oakland has been in three and won one. Texas has been in two. The Angels have only appeared in and won one like the Sox. Only Seattle from that division has not been in the World Series. So given Reinsdorf’s epic level of fail, I probably would agree there is zero chance as long as he remains owner, even though the OP did give them a non-zero chance.
  3. This is the 800 pound gorilla in the room. Nobody likes the guy. It’s obvious. Can’t blame the rest of the team. He a narcissistic a—hole. I remember when Sammy Sosa left the Cubs stadium early at the end of his last season there. It was obvious the rest of the team hated him and when he left early Kerry Wood took a bat and smashed that radio that Sosa loved so much. I wouldn’t be surprised if that happened here.
  4. And you would think that after forty flipping years of continuous ownership that the organization would be running like a well oiled machine and there would be a unifying set of principles. Instead they run around like nobody has ever done this before. You would think the front office had yearly turnover the way it is run.
  5. I think they are far more likely to lose 90 than finish .500
  6. That was only due to trading away a couple All Stars. Not due to good scouting and drafting. And it turns out those rankings were crap. That “top” farm system turned into a fourth place team in the worst division in baseball history.
  7. We’ve seen before that players will take less to go elsewhere.
  8. Yeah but I would say 2022 is more analogous to the 1985 team that had a respectable season and then headed into a disastrous four year stretch.
  9. Why would Ohtani sign with the Sox?
  10. After you trade away half your pitching staff and at least one starting position player who in their right mind thinks this team wins anything?
  11. They would have to go 22-11 to be 1 game under .500. This is not happening. 2024 and 2025 are not happening as well.
  12. I can’t stand these players and the talent isn’t there but I decent manager could have them close to .500. Not over since their ceiling is .500.
  13. I think you overrate the pitching staff. Giolito is proven. Other than that Cease is a one year wonder that throws 100 pitches in five innings too often. Kopech is a never was. Lynn is fat and washed up. Then you have the family guy. And the hitters are worse.
  14. This. I don’t think the talent is there. It never was.
  15. And if you opined that Hahn didn’t know what he was doing you were a closet Cubs fan. Or a meathead that didn’t understand the modern game.
  16. The fans will hate you in another city because you’re just an a-hole…. Anderson
  17. You’re right and he’s probably the only semi-credible person that would take the job.
  18. Which is just hilarious. They crapped in the bed and now they don’t want to sleep in their feces-stained bed.
  19. One of the few enjoyable moments this season.
  20. Yes it seems like nearly every game they score under three runs. I remember when people thought they had a murderers row. That was funny.
  21. He screamed racial epithets at others in the past. Wouldn’t be surprised if he directed it at Grifol or other teammates as well.
