  1. But just once it would be nice to sign a real starting pitcher even if you’re overpaying for him on the back end of the contract. I will never forgive him for passing on Clemens and signing Jaime Navarro instead.
  2. I think he means that it’s typical that Jimenez will miss two months to any of a number of injuries in every single year.
  3. He’s made most of his bad luck before this incident.
  4. A better question would be: as bad as this bullpen has been, and as mediocre as Lynn and Giolito have been, what contender would part with their top prospects for pitchers that won’t help them?
  5. It is inherently flawed when the person who put the car in the ditch gets to drive the tow truck.
  6. "I've never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure"
  7. I thought Beckham played second.
  8. Best rap line ever: “Got my Chrome to the side of his White Sox hat.”
  9. I don’t see anything there that should strike fear in the hearts of the AL Central. Maybe it was a bad idea to let Abreu go. Imagine how different that list would be if Bryce Harper was on it. (“at least until Eloy gets hurt”, lol)
  10. Imagine being told in 2019 that Tony freaking LaRussa would be the manager in 2022.
  11. There was a guy on these pages that developed a spreadsheet to track the success of the rebuild trades. It was around 2017. I would love to find this spreadsheet and see what happened. It can’t be good.
  12. The other teams didn’t let the captain of the Titanic drive the rescue boats. Apples and oranges.
  13. Seriously how did Monday come and go, after and epic losing streak when they were supposed to contend, with some of the worst baseball ever seen for this franchise known for baseball stupidity and not one person has lost a job. I thought somebody would have been canned on Monday.
  14. Ahhh, yes ESPN certainly does suck independent of this grade.
  15. What should a team playing .250 be graded?
  16. Not with this pitching staff. Outside of 2017 I don’t ever recall a worse Sox starting staff in my 40 years of following the team.
  17. This is a better question … At this point I’m neutral or slightly pulling for the opponent. This management needs to be humiliated, just like Lawrence Holmes talked about in his rant last year. It doesn’t help that none of the guys on this team are likable, except maybe for Burger. I see Roberts jogging down the first base line and find myself rooting for the Rays in the first inning.
  18. Winning the division (not that it will actually happen) would be about the worst thing to happen to the fans. It would buy the management more time, they would suck more money from the fans, and the team would get humiliated in the first round of the playoffs. Plus, players that do need to get traded would end up sticking around.
  19. I knew this would happen once they won a game. The players on this team suck. They have no pitching and I’m not sure that Cease wasn’t a one year wonder. Lynn will continue to get shelled despite his good six innings the other night. Giolito too. They have no bullpen. They be closer to the Royals than the top. Don’t do this to yourselves.
  20. Probable. This game was a disaster. He’s gonna ride this till at least October.
  21. Great. They just saved Hahns job for the season.
  22. I truthfully thought they would not be very good. Im surprised Giolito had the success that he did.
