  1. At this point I think it’s worse than the rebuilding years. This is worse than the Fregosi era.
  2. Yeah I’m not sure you can say they’ve “survived”. Yes they still happen to exist as an organization. But we were told, by regular commenters on here and in the media, that this would be a resurgence and they would rival the Cubs in terms of popularity. Does anyone seriously see that happening? Heck the Brewers might be more popular in Chicago than the Sox. Also they didn’t piss on their fan base in the previous down times like they do today.
  3. Doesn’t Abreu start slow literally every year?
  4. Not only defend … they actively attacked anyone who said, early on, “Hey, maybe these guys don’t look as good as you may think.” It was on the verge of turning into WSI in 2018-2019.
  5. I think the point is that these players Hahn acquired were never as good as advertised or hoped for. I’m not sure that they succeed with another organization.
  6. This. These players were never that good. Roberts was injury prone in the minors. Moncada was not deserving of his status the moment he got up and we all knew it. Giolito had a nice run. Kopech has always been a thrower and not a pitcher. Jimenez was injury prone the minute he got up here. I’m not convinced Cease isn’t a one year wonder. This is all Hahn. The fans wanted him to be the Sox’ Theo. But you can’t let the captain who ran the ship into the iceberg be in charge of the rescue boats. He needed to be fired in 2015 or 2016.
  7. I don’t really have any grief because I expected this. I knew they had no pitching and I’m still not sold that Cease wasn’t a one year wonder. If he blows up then they have nothing at all. I was never sold on Moncada and I knew Roberts got hurt in the minors a bunch. (I was an open book on Jimenez and Vaughn.)
  8. Can I change my vote? Will this team win another game this month?
  9. It’s more than the record. You can watch them play and tell they don’t give a shiite. It’s way I keep thinking there is no one likable on this team.
  10. Detroit, Cleveland, and Kansas City have all been in the WS multiple times since the Sox last appeared.
  11. I don’t think an oft injured poor fielding shortstop will bring back as much value as you think.
  12. It’s the same team as the quitters that rolled over and died after Cleveland beat them last September. Quitters lead by morons.
  13. I bought a winter home between Orlando and Tampa and I find it easy to root for the Rays and the Lightning. Also fun to go to Florida Gators home games.
  14. I can’t think of one semi-likable person on the team. Maybe Burger. That’s it.
  15. One was a fake season. Not even 81 games played. It was super spring training.
  16. It doesn’t help that there isn’t a single likable person on this team outside of maybe Burger. I agree with the author. I’ve moved on. I moved on when they started this rebuild without first cleaning house. I knew back then what would happen. I’m amazed they got one division win out of it. Life is too short when your entertainment is no longer entertaining.
  17. They should have gone hat in hand to Renteria and begged his forgiveness. He must be in a dumpster somewhere.
  18. So Dylan Cease would bring back more than Chris Sale?
  19. I used to get pleasure out of the Cubs misery. Once they finally won I gave up rooting for or against anybody.
  20. Yeah, these are professionals who were supposed to be World Series contenders just one year ago and we are praising them for coming back before ultimately falling apart?
  21. Sounds like Oglivie from The Bad News Bears: “And we did hit 17 foul balls!”
