  1. Betts seems to go back to Boston no matter how much money anyone throws at him. Something like an 11 year, 350 million deal with them.
  2. My wet dreams still consist of some combination of Tyler Johnson, Ian Hamilton, and Zach Burdi in the 7th, 8th, and 9th.
  3. Like, how many nanoseconds slower would you say you noticed with your naked eyes? 3 nanoseconds? More? Less?
  4. If Mazara was in the Sox lineup last year and hit his career average he would have been our 6th best hitter, and a huge improvement in RF. Now with Encarnacion and a rookie Robert, I'll take a .750 OPS out of the 7/8 hitter.
  5. Agreed. Clubhouse guy and team chemistry are important. But still, the only contact that raises my eyebrows this offseason. People were worried, thinking the signings were too similar to what we had been doing. Truth is that even Gio is the best free agent, in my mind, that we've acquired in years. And he's probably the 4th best of the offseason.
  6. Yeah, it's perfect. Only deal I haven't liked has been the Abreu contact.
  7. Ball hung up forever. Not a super difficult play, but exciting nonetheless. Way better than the alternative.
  8. Swing and approach. Swing is shorter and faster by a tick, and he's swinging early in the count. Not walking at an insane 20%+ anymore, but 13-15% is still damn good.
  9. Then why did Frank Thomas always bat 3rd?
  10. He knows there's absolutely nothing he can teach him.
  11. Injuries, as were discussed.
  12. How long is he expected to be out?!

    Rodon

If Rodon was a free agent this offseason, what kind of offers do you think he'd get? What's the market for a 27 year old who has only pitched over 140 innings once in his career, coming off TJ surgery, who has pitched 220 innings total over the last 3 seasons with an ERA north of 4.30 during that time? I wouldn't guarantee him 20 million. Maybe 3 for 15 with incentives. 150 innings, 25 games started, all star. 1 million extra each year for each one achieved. Would bring the total to 3 for 24, but we'd obviously take that for an all star.
  14. Vaughn says it's worldwind. I'm not going to disagree with the 21 year old 6 ft 215lb future 3 hole hitter for the Chicago White Sox, and you shouldn't either.
  15. Am I too late to make the first Casey Gillaspie comment?
  16. Maybe not the most popular answer, but could it end up being Leury in center and Robert in right?
  17. I saw that too, it was hard to spot on a quick glance in the box score as there were a few HBP. I wondered if it was retaliation for Robert taking 3 minutes to round the bases on his home run.
  18. Right now ther only reason not to bring him to AAA is because they don't really want to touch Mendick right now. Maybe they don't know what to do with Mendick. They could bring him up for Rondon but there's no certainty you wouldn't get the same results. Same with Sanchez. But what we can all agree on is that Madrigal is going to be better than all three of them, and most likely already is. That would lead one to believe that service time is really the only thing keeping him from MLB, and not knowing what to do with the 3 in front of him is why he's still in AA.
