Dodgers kicking Tires on Q

Featured Replies

Needs a separate thread (vs. being burried in existing massive catch-all thread). Dodgers clearly have a lot of potential prospects and even some major league pieces they could offer (you'd have to assume that the starting price tag would be Urias plus one of their young, but streaky outfielders, along with at least one frontline prospect.

I'm not sure who I would want to move. Sale has less control left, but is a better pitcher than Q.

Move Q, Sale gave the Sox a massive discount cause he wants to play here. Sale probably would do the same when he becomes a free agent.

Very doubtful of that.

Moving Q for a good package makes more sense to me than trading Sale.

Not a chance. He gave us a discount and we rewarded him with a terrible lineup and minimal run support. He's gone when his contract is up.

Yep, and he's been an amazing member of the Sox in terms of not complaining about the talent around him and/or demanding a trade.

The Dodgers are light on position player prospects, so they might have to get in a third team.

Was wondering if maybe the Sox try to get the Yankees involved in order to get Sanchez.

I dunno, Verdugo and Barnes plus one of De Leon or Urias and i'd say let er rip.

I could see them giving up Pederson as a part of a Q trade.

Sale gave a big discount because he wanted guaranteed money in case his arm fell off tomorrow, not because he liked the Sox. Same with Q for that matter.

And a not amazing member in terms of publicly calling for the ouster of the team's VP

^this

I'd trade Q and keep Sale. You'll make a killing any year when you trade Sale. With this years SP market, you'll never get more for Q than you will this next week. JMO

Part of me wants to see Sale and Q not leave and retire with this team

So I won't be mad if they stay, even though trading at least one is the smart move

I'll take Urias no problem

Benintendi has played 144 pro games--

35 doubles, 15 triples, 18 homers, 25 sb, .916 OPS

Get me that guy. Ball player.

Do you expect them to retire in 2019 and 2020? They won't be here beyond those years most likely.

I'd be psyched if he was part of any package, he's going to be a beast

This. Does anyone honestly think Jerry's gonna give Sale $35 million a year? If he keeps pitching the way he has, he's going to get that easy.

Quintana has his era under 3 now (2.98).
