February 16, 20179 yr Author Dan Hayes @CSNHayes Cory Luebke pitched last season for first time since 2012 bc of those TJ surgeries. Competing for bullpen spot w/ #WhiteSox.
February 16, 20179 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 01:25 PM) Andrew Baggarly @extrabaggs Rollins said he made the wrong decision to sign w/White Sox over Giants last year. Eager to get work at 3B/2B in addition to SS. LMAO. I think the Sox and Sox fans think the same thing.

February 16, 20179 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 01:08 PM) What an odd thing to question. What is wrong with that statement versus any of the other ones Renteria made? I question that because that is one of the questions that surrounded him during his brief stint in Boston.
February 17, 20179 yr QUOTE (steveno89 @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 07:35 AM) Schwarber in the outfield will be ugly. He is a classic American League 1B/DH. Catching is out of the question, and he is a liability in the outfield. I think it would be hard for the Cubs to trade such a valuable bat at this point in his career though. Schwarber will be lucky to have a Mike Napoli type career.
February 17, 20179 yr Soxtalk's collective mind is going to blow up when Schwarber becomes an average outfielder.
February 17, 20179 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 07:53 PM) Soxtalk's collective mind is going to blow up when Schwarber becomes an average outfielder. I think he'll be good enough for LF.
February 17, 20179 yr QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 07:59 PM) I think he'll be good enough for LF. No he won't. He's worse than Avi out there and that's saying something.
February 17, 20179 yr Schwarber has played like 100 something games in his life in the outfield. I obviously have no clue if he'll ever be an average outfielder but it's pretty funny to me how quickly some on this site dismiss it.
February 17, 20179 yr QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 12:29 AM) Cubs are planning on using Schwarber in LF (LOL) and as an emergency catcher behind Contreras and Montero. I don't think the Cubs need to make any trades but after seeing Schwarber boot some balls in ST they might conclude that the best thing for Schwarber's career is to trade him to an AL club. I'd like to see the Sox make a pitch for him if things turn in that direction. Never trade with Epstein. It seems like he always gets more than he gives up.
February 17, 20179 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 11:02 AM) Now if they honored him and gave him one of those jersey's with his number on it... With half of his number cut out?

February 17, 20179 yr QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 08:00 PM) No he won't. He's worse than Avi out there and that's saying something. Good enough for LF = still beliw average, but bat will make up for it. "Hide the glove" position afterall.
February 17, 20179 yr QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 10:08 PM) Good enough for LF = still beliw average, but bat will make up for it. "Hide the glove" position afterall. Hard to forget his foibles out in LF in the 2015 playoff and of course, the play last season that he injured himself. I'd like to have him as DH though. I'd trade Fulmer to get him.
February 17, 20179 yr https://twitter.com/ChiTribKane/status/832624065244311557 White Sox third baseman Todd Frazier says his finger, which he sprained last month, is fine. Has been hitting every day.
February 17, 20179 yr QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 08:00 PM) No he won't. He's worse than Avi out there and that's saying something. No he's not. In a total of about 35 games, he's been a slightly below average fielder. Avisail Garcia is one of the worst in the majors.
February 17, 20179 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 06:09 PM) Schwarber has played like 100 something games in his life in the outfield. February 17, 20179 yr QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 11:05 AM) I'm with you. I wish we had a young bat like Schwarber. No one is questioning his offensive ability. He's just a prototypical DH that's forced to play the outfield and is terrible at it.
