Micker Adolfo out at least six weeks.

Featured Replies

Micker adolfo is out at least 6 weeks with a UCL sprain, could be more if needs surgery. Oh boy

Hopefully it is truly only 6 weeks.

If so, he'll only miss a little of the actual season.

Mannnnnnnn

It sucks but I am sure he will go on the 60 day DL and it will at least temporarily open up a roster spot for a non roster guy.

Oh god damnit.

  1. Bruce Levine‏ @MLBBruceLevine 43m43 minutes ago Micker Adolfo of the White Sox strained ACL in right arm - Sprained flexor in same arm. Will miss minimum of 6 weeks and more if surgery is needed.

The Adolfo injury is UCL and Flexor tendon not ACL .

Isn't Micker known for his arm strength? I wonder if this injury will hinder that at all.

Since he's on the 40-man, won't he accrue service time for going on the major league dl?

You only get service time on the 25 man roster, I believe.

Sounds like Tommy John surgery is likely, but if it doesn't look terrible on the MRI they might try to rehab it before putting him on the operating table.

But with the 25-man technically not being set, wouldn't he technically go to the MLB DL?

I don't believe you go on the major league DL until you are on the major league 25 man roster.

Man does that suck. Kid is either made of glass or has the worst luck.

“Micker Adolfo reported with some soreness in his arm after some drills the other day,” Hahn said. “We had it examined and unfortunately it revealed a sprain in his ulnar collateral ligament and a strain in his flexor tendon. While that is never good news, the positive side of it is that the tear is on the proximal side, which our doctors have explained to me means rehabilitation has a higher likelihood of working than the normal circumstances where a guy has a UCL tear or tendon tear.”

I guess that’s good news right?

sounded that way to me....but I wouldn't count on anything just yet.

So like The Wolf said.....

Paging ptact... stat.

Don't think there's much good news here other than that they think they can rehab it without TJ. At best he's missing a critical 2-3 months of development time.

Bigger picture (and problem) is that Micker seems to be put together with duct tape and zip ties. I'd be curious to here what ptac thinks but I do think that "injury prone" is a thing -- and micker is injury prone.

Probably his best tool..

the glass man.

Very injury prone it seems. Kid just can not stay healthy. Hopefully Robert doesn't fall in the same boat early on.

I feel bad for him, but he is always hurt. We need to move forward as if he wont make it to the big leagues.
