Correct. All three teams are or were 56-86 with 20 left. Padres have started the final 20 at 0-2, thus 88 losses.

While losing right now may be understood, I would also add that the fans have every right to be pissed about it. The losing in 2018 is a direct result of choices the White Sox were making in 2013, 201

Marlins-Pirates got rained out today. It’s rescheduled for Oct. 1, but they’ll probably cancel it once the Pirates are eliminated. Half game could screw the Sox.

Orioles .287

Royals .331

Padres .389

White Sox .392

Marlins .394

Tigers .413

Rangers .427

Looks like 1 and 2 locked up.  20 games to go.

State of Emergency declared in Maryland this weekend. 3 game series with the Orioles could be washed out.

Would you be willing to lose two spots in the draft if it meant the Cubs lost the division and had to host the wildcard?

I asked this 4 weeks ago....seems a good time to ask again...5th or 6th instead of 3rd, and the Cubs fall to wildcard status. Do you take it?

No. The Cubs status is a waste of time for White Sox fans.

I’m asking would you want the White Sox to sweep the Cubs the final home weekend even if it meant falling from 3rd to 5th or 6th, and in the process prevent the Cubs from winning the division, but host the wildcard game?

No. The higher draft pick is worth more to us than the Cubs status. The only way I want to see the Sox streak is it it means hot streaks from Yoan, Anderson and guys in this ilk.

Could be a good thing, doubt they would make them up and i would say we would have crushed the orioles.

For those that follow this stuff, what type of player could they conceivably get with a top 5 pick?

What I mean, is how deep does it go for "can't-miss" guys, and which positions.

Yes, yes I do.  I hate the Cubs that much.

Reframe that,

Our 3rd pick becomes a Cubs murderer, sporting a 1.200 OPS against them for 10 years.

Thats what im hoping for :)

It is super early, but the earliest leaders at the top are a couple of college catchers,  the kids from Oregon State and Baylor,  along with Bobby Witt Jr.

Padres and Marlins win, good night for the tank

If it kicks the Cubs in the nut sac....I'm all for it.  Fuck them.....

14 GB of the Orioles for #1 (LMAO)

6 GB of the Royals for #2 (Sox were 10 GB just 4 days ago, who knows)

2 GA of the Padres for the #3 pick.

Hell no. The Sox getting a potential impact player is infinitely more important than rooting against the Cubs. Especially in the 3 or 5 or 6 range. Often there's a few big guns at the top of a draft and then a fall-off.

Dear White Sox,

This has been a magical week. You're almost there! Please do not fuck this up.

Definitely would like to see them get the 3rd pick. Unfortunately the peaks and valleys of the four teams from 3 to 6 might just have the Sox in a valley before a peak comes again. 62-100 would be nice.  64-98 would get iffy, I'm afraid.

Looks like the storm will be more south by the weekend (Braves hosting Nats). The Sox/Orioles might have some Friday scattered showers, but they'll get three games in this weekend.

Just a terrible storm, by the way. The rainfall amounts will be incredible.

If the Sox lose out, that means Baltimore gets 3 wins, and would just have to win 4 of their other 17 games to fall behind the White Sox for #1 overall.

Yeah, it's not going to happen, but it's a nice thought.

Padres win. Tigers lose. Marlins-Mets underway.

Looks like the baltimore series will happen, bad for us. Could be in the 6th or 7th spot by Monday.
