Sox desperately need 2 new catchers

I get the BB rate is nice, but Narvaez literally brings nothing else to the table.  I’d rather see guys run wild on Smith than tolerate another passed ball or weak groundout from Omar.

Speaking of Ronnie “Sunshine” Bass (Clevinger’s doppelgänger)...rewatching Remember the Titans would be a good choice if this one gets into blowout territory. Anderson has now passed Moncada in O

6 innings and no walks.  I know he got hit hard at points, but I can handle an outing like this versus what we had been seeing.

  • Rodon.  5 IP 3 H 0 R 0 ER 2 BB 8 SO (86 pitches)

Hopefully last we see of Giolito for awhile

Oh yay, more mediocre first pitch fastballs down the plate. He's done

Massive bust at this point of his career

Gotta go Gio.

Send this guy down.  He’s clearly not going to be able to work through his shit at the major league level.

And another 92 mph fastball right down the plate.   Send his ass to Charlotte

Oh, Gio...

The pitch selection today is something that makes me question if Cooper can adjust his philosophy to the new loft era. Have to throw high fastballs in today's era to be effective.

Nothing but breaking balls to EE  was wondering when he'd throw more breakers  when his 4 seamer is getting torched.

Meanwhile Rodon 4K in 2IP.

Vs Brewers this weekend?  Wouldn't mind one more Giolito start to screw the Cubs.

Yeah... I really need Carlos Rodon in my White Sox life.

What the hell happened to Giolito's curveball? I got into it with a poster here saying it was not better than Floyd's (so far I was right like I said) but it's not even close to comparable.. it's a show me rather than a weapon now.

It was awful last year. Couldn't throw it for strikes. The Giolito curve is now synonymous with D. Day's slider and Bummer's 97 mph fastball.

At least he made them earn it today. Step in the right direction.

Fangraphs gave it a FV of 70 in last year’s prospect rankings.  Honestly in his spring start against the Cubs it looked the part, but that pitch is long since dead.  God only knows what happened to this kid.

Is Perez a top-notch framer?

Curious what his velocity has been.

Not sure where you drew that conclusion because his curveball was garbage in 2017

Farmer is 100% right that Clevenger balks on every single pitch with runners on.  He never completely pauses before he comes home.

Its just baffling really. Even the tight one he threw in the dirt to get outs last year is gone, minus the 12-6 one he once had.

I think if the Sox can take anything away from this outing of  Giolito is NO walks. Going in the right direction
