For all the incessant complaining about him, you wouldn't think that Eloy is on a 39 HR/162 game pace in his rookie year.

  • Action in practically every inning.   Any kid going to this game as his first is probably hooked for life.  That's how Sox fans get made.

  • What's also nice, Miley isnt exactly acing our guys. A lot of low and in sliders to righties (away to lefties) and he's falling behind a lot, forcing him to throw soft stuff down the middle. Our guys

Thats terrible.  RF played the ball.

WTF Brantley played the ball. WOW F you NY

Sorry why do you think that?

I was thinking of detwiler in particular. Seems like the Sox have done this a bunch this season. Get a couple lucky starts, watch the bad player be bad for a bit, then finally get rid of the player for a  new rando after a big blow up.

I love to watch Timmy run the bases...can't wait to see the highlight of his 1st triple of the season.  To echo the other sentiments...I am shocked he didn't have a triple when he was player of the month.

I'm watching the game with sound off in a meeting. Anyone willing to give me an explanation of how the hell that became a ground rule double?

Watching the game without sound and I have no idea what's going on. I assumed it was about yolmer missing the base. Now brantley looks confused.

An idiotic replay system that finds new and exciting ways to screw up games

Seems the RF doesn't have to make any signal that it was lodged, despite immediately playing the ball, for it to be overruled as a ground rule double.  Or thats what I gleaned from Jason's befuddled explanation.

Should be 8-4 smh

Now the question should be what if they threw out one of the runners? Would the runner be safe cause the ball is considered dead?

Rule 5.05(a)(7)

(7) Any fair ball which, either before or after touching the ground, passes through or under a fence, or through or under a scoreboard, or through any opening in the fence or scoreboard, or through or under shrubbery, or vines on the fence, or which sticks in a fence or scoreboard, in which case the batter and the runners shall be entitled to two bases;

2019 Official Baseball Rules

I believe the two bases are defined from the point where the runners were when the pitch was thrown.

Clarification

Abreu is so clueless defensively

Ricky's gonna tank this one.

Saw on gamecast that the catcher hit a single on a softly hit ground ball to first base......similar to what happens in girls tee ball I assume

I they could only get that out of Castillo.

When you live in the desert you forgot what rain looks like.

Nice to see Timmy breaking out again!

Tim should be working on a cycle bid right now

Tim gets in before Abreu is tagged out.  8-5!

Abreu driving in another run in a meaningless game.

Is this the last time the Sox face the Astros?

call the game now.

So tanking is selective?  Try like hell to win some and then try like hell to lose some?
