November 5, 20196 yr Waiting for another Dickerson "puff piece." In all seriousness, I'm not sure it really matters all that much if we miss on Wheeler and don't sign AT LEAST one of the 4-5 hitters (Grandal/Gregorious/Moustakas/Castellanos/Ozuna) that are closer to their "normal/predictable" Sox price range.

Do you think my arguments for Dickerson are puff pieces ?

I'm not sure how his contract situation works with a trade - would we have to tender him a contract first before we trade him, or can we trade him first and let the other team pay the arb price? Does he even have value as a trade piece (not as a headliner but a sweetener)? Sox could trade him before non tender deadline. Or tender him a contract and trade him after. Problem is, at his projected arb price, he has no trade value.

When Ricketts wants something, he usually gets it because he is flush with Ameritrade money and is willing to spend whatever it takes. You don't want to get into a bidding war with someone that has more money than brains.

Their budget and spending is based on how much money the cubs earn.

November 5, 20196 yr I think he’s destined to be a White Sox player. That accidental tweet by Gregor solidifies it.

He said he spoke to KW and KW said they will be pursuing a lefty RF in free agency that hits for power. Edited November 5, 20196 yr by Orlando

Just knowing previous targets and adding this tweet and the fact that Bennetti was gushing about in during their series, I'd say its safe to assume he is a target. I'd bet that they sign him.
