Moncada saying he doesn't like batting leadoff and feels most comfortable in the #2 spot would be enough for me to lock him in at 2.

Did you notice the 3 , 4 and 5 hitters were Abreu, Grandal and Encarnacion ? Take the 1st letter of their last names in order of spot in the batting order and what does it spell ?  A- G -E

What is he doing....

20 days until opening day. The math works for Giolito. Hope that’s enough time so he can go 6 innings then.

Moncada leading off.....knock it off already Ricky.

Why is Moncada leading off?

He's leading off because he walks more than Timmy.

I don't like it. Shit, I'd rather lead off Robert.

People getting mad about spring training lineups.

Timmy doesn't walk enough.

Interesting that Madrigal and Mazara aren't in the line-up against the cubs.

I was hoping to see more of them in the few Spring games where winning at least has some importance to the fans.

They both played yesterday

Who cares, he’s probably never going to walk a ton but he can still work as a leadoff hitter as long as his pitch selection keeps improving. He’s also the best base stealing threat on the team. I’d rather have Moncada driving in Anderson than vice versa.

In my opinion, our winning years will have Tim Anderson batting 7th or lower. Do whatever to start the season, but nothing really matters lineup-wise right now.

Two problems:

  1. Don't get trapped in the steals game. The fact is, your highest OBP guy should lead off. Steals are nice, but ultimately the only thing you need from your leadoff man is to get on base.
  2. Moncada runs and Anderson runs are equal.

Based on 2019 numbers, Moncada should be leading off. The hope is that one of the young guys will get on base enough to justify leading off.

I agree that the best White Sox team will have Tim Anderson in a 6-9 spot.

Think you could get this game on Reddit?

Since the Cubs have it on a TV network, possibly. They have a thread of it up already

I’m all for lineup optimization but their best OBP guy is Grandal and I want him sandwiched in between the middle of the lineup.
And Moncada said that he hates batting leadoff, so why is he there?

Moncada 1-1 for one with his new deal!

Yo batting right handed singles into RF to lead off the game.

Nice at bat after getting down 0-2

This might be a dumb question, but do AL pitchers hit if the NL team is home during Spring training?
