Is he really a high upside 2nd rounder though? A lot of scouts had questions about his now body/stuff. Dude doesn't have a breaking ball either.

Yes he’s a huge upside guy in the scheme of things

You know what's worse than a 5 round draft? A 2 round draft.

A typical 40 round draft is really more like an 8 round draft anyway.  There are like maybe 5 guys in the first 10 rounds and then a few overslots.

Haha. That's your dude Harold.

The Reds took my guy!  Bastards!

Give me Abel and 4 guys with a pulse over what the White Sox are doing.

Didn't the Sox draft Crochet, Kelley and 2 guys with a pulse so far?

Okay, guys with a shot not guys with a pulse. Doesn't help that I hate the Crochet pick.

Hahaha Cubs took Luke Little.  Dudes a carnival thrower.  No chance he ever throws strikes.

If Crochet is really going to be paid at slot and we're going to pay Kelley, it makes sense that #3 and #4 aren't nationally ranked in any publication.

I like Kelley and crochet is not bad either but are the sox even spending all of their bonus pool?

Don't like they are punting so much. Sure Kelley will be over slot quite a bit but crochet is probably at least a mil under slot so they should be able to pay kelley and still get somewhat decent picks and not just unranked guys.

You know, someone has to play for the Cannon Ballers...welcome to the White Sox organization all unranked selections!! :gosox4:

Damn the D'Backs took Vuck.  This kid is big, athletic and has huge power.  He's Dave Kingman,

Odd Draft as expected, for better or worse

I will take a huge upside 2nd round pick over two or three average picks 100 percent of the time

Fathom is more optimistic than some people.

Personally would have went Howard over Crotchet, but I'm fine with Crotchet, high upside

Kelley in the 2nd is such a steal, awesome to see, makes me feel better about Crotchet

Punted in the 3rd and 4th, maybe add a nice 5th or some UDFAs

Seems to me like a TON of talent will be staying/heading to school in the Fall

Yeah Crochet really should not get slot.  1 million less sounds about right.  Play hardball.

I think there are probably a lot of hung heads right now.  A lot of money isn't there.  A lot of people aren't going to get paid, period.

Just getting to the point where a MLB team is willing to draft you and spend 100+k is a ceiling most of these guys won't ever hit again.  The idea of a HS with "leverage" is way overblown and a bunch of kids cut out of payment in this draft aren't going to get there next time around.

I at least like swinging for the fences rather than playing it safe. I know it was ages ago, but this is the same franchise that took Broadway and McCullough in back to back years, maybe the “safest” picks of all-time and we saw where it got them.

Roll the dice, try and really cash in with your best assets. Don’t hate it

I'm in between here. I think they could have taken a different HS SP with upside that didn't require them to punt more than their 3rd rounder.

Such a shame, as is this whole predicament

Everyone stay well

Crochet should know there might not even be a college season next year. Then what for him?  A little lost leverage here.

This is insane. He's a top 20 player in the class.
