Singer no-hitter thru 7.  102 pitches, and he’s a rookie in 2020, so...

Watching right now.  He looks pretty good, but this might be Cleveland's hitters too. They do not look hitterish.

I have always said that in a short schedule like this year and 60 games is that you will win 20 and lose 20 it is how you play those other twenty that will determine your fate. That’s what I have alwa

  • Why does my long time Sox fan brain concentrate on the 1.7% chance of not making the playoffs?

11-0 now. Mondesi just crushed a 3-run shot.  Sox likely to pick up a half game.

Maybe re-title thread “Scoreboard Watching/ Playoff Seed Thread” or something like that?

Guess the Indians are dropping to 3rd place. 11-0

Singer still out there in the 8th. Good! Good for baseball.

Good to see the Indians pitching regressing.

Probably not good for his arm though depending on how many pitches he goes.

Hit. Oh well.

Of all the hitters to break up a no hitter...it's Austin Hedges.

Austin Hedges breaks up the no no on a little roller to right field.

And there goes the no hitter.  So much for my hopes of a demoralized Cleveland ??

They live in Cleveland,  the only way it could get more demoralizing is if they got traded to Detroit.

Surprised they let him finish the inning.119 pitches.

The Indians and Twins start a series tomorrow. Who are we rooting for?

I’ll go Indians 2-1, so their season series ends 5-5. Not sure that does anything good for the Sox, but that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

Didn't regress much despite the score. Civale wasn't great but gave up 4 in 6. They had one reliever blow up pretty much.

I'll say this, the most important part about this year for me is the Sox showing an ability to close something out. The season may not be normal but the race is going to feel every bit as intense and they play some good teams. They're in the playoffs almost automatically, but go out there and play high level winning baseball to close the year out and show you're here for real. Ready to play and knock off the best. A less than .500ish finsh the rest of the way would get them in, but feel unfulfilling for me.

The Sox did just enough to help Mondesi turn his season around. GENIUS.

NY at Oak; Tor at Min

Cle at TB; Hou at Sox

A’s move to 1, Indians fall to 7

We sweep Detroit.

Cleveland takes two out of three. That puts us 3 up on Minny and 2.5 up on Cleveland.

If the Sox sweep Detroit, whatever happens in the Cleveland Minny series would be good.  Take care of business and everything will work out.

18 inning games

I'd be fine with this. If (big if) we sweep Detroit, we'd then be 2.5 games up on Cleveland and 3 games up on the Twins going into that 4 game series against them. At that point, you just try to split that series and keep that nice lead

I think you want Cleveland to win 2/3. The White Sox are up two games in the loss column on both. If the Sox can sweep this weekend, then they'd be 4 up in the loss column on Minnesota and 3 up on Cleveland
