The SLG is not good for a bat only slugger but yes i know he is rusty. 

I heard the level of competition was like recent college players or something like that?

If there is an expanded AFL in the fall maybe he can participate in that.

Sox can get a good amount of cash off the books next year clearing Cishek, Gonzalez and EE. I think declining the options cost only like around 1m each but in total will save like 20m.

Cishek had a sub-3 ERA the last two years and has pitched less than 9 total innings. Ruiz's career WHIP is close to 2. 

Gotta give Cishek a bit more rope still.

Same with the release EE talk.  Effectively this season is in late April in terms of how many games we have played, and the teams didn't get a spring training.  Take a guy like Cishek who has a ton of moving parts in his delivery, and it isn't hard to see why he might be having some problems early.

There's no point in having him in Schaumburg, he's not going to contribute. He was active. We aren't getting an all star pitcher. I could absolutely see him as part of a package.

Who is trading for a guy like that?  Unless we get back absolute garbage, or he is the 4th guy in a 4 player deal, he has zero value.
