Sox didn't sign Pedro Strop to a minor league deal after all - Cubs get him

Maybe some reinforcements are on the way?

Is he any good?  Was he ever any good?  I know the name but he's a complete blank.

Cinci dropped him like a bad habit in early August but he really didn't pitch a lot, only 2.1 innings.  Not sure what to expect, he was clearly dealing with something last year but if he has some zip back on his stuff, could be a good add

Thought I read where his velocity was way down

35, debuted in 2009.  Had some solid years with the Cubs but hasn't been good in a few.  Fresh arm is a fresh arm but I'm not expecting much.

Thought I remember him being pretty good with the Cubs a few years ago.  But, I do remember reading he has struggled since.

He used to be very very good.  Been very bad for 2 years nnow.  I like this signing.  No risk, some reward

Is he training with Reynaldo or something?  Wow, that’s a crazy dip.

Couldn't remember if he was good or if it was just Cubs hype.  Turns out he was actually good.  And then he wasn't.  And then yikes.

This deserves a firm meh.

Ha ha. I’d give it a resounding meh.

I see a trend there

I hope he doesn’t see the majors with us or appear in a Sox uniform. He’s one of the pitchers I absolutely couldn’t stand. A Cubs fan I talked to about him called his demeanor gamesmanship, I called them antics.

I feel the same way about this as I did when I thought we signed him: meh.
