It doesn't come up much but I think this is exactly a scenario where the 3-batter rule made a difference. Last year I think Fry is in to face Rosario, then Colome for Sano and the rest of the game whether its still the 8th or the 9th.

But now, if Fry didn't get Rosario he'd have to face Sano and Buxton, so Colome comes out instead.
