Charlie Haeger wanted for murder, found dead of self-inflicted gunshot

Wow. Turn yourself in, dude.

The victim has been identified. She broke up with Haeger months ago and wanted to get a restraining order.

Piece of shit. Kill yourself.

Oh wow.  Hopefully he turns himself in before it gets worse.

Horrible. Hope they get his ass before he does something even worse.

another failed KW draft

Sox are never going to fill the rotation at this rate

Actually he probably was an above average draft. He was bad but he was a 25th rounder and 95% or so of 25th rounders never make the majors at all.

Haeger was a knuckleball pitcher... those guys are always a bit off.

wow, i think his cousin used to post here

Isn't there a user on here named, "Charlie Haeger's Knuckles"?  Whole new meaning to that username.

Sure but I don't think you can blame a team for what happens 20 years after the draft.

This is peak usage of "actually", missing the forest for the trees. We're not commenting on his effectiveness as a baseball player or what this has anything to do with the Sox organization.

In January, he was named pitching coach of the Chicago Cubs' Double-A affiliate, the Tennessee Smokies, though the season was later canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Michigan native previously served as the assistant pitching coordinator for the Tampa Bay Rays.

He killed himself.

Yep they found his body. What a terrible, awful story. Prayers to both his and her families. Just sickening.

Hug your loved ones.

How 2020

Awful story all around

Saw him come in relief years ago and always loved having a knuckler, absolutely wild

Wow. What a terrible story.

Last thing I expected to find when checking in on Soxtalk. Holy cow. Awful.

... he listened.

Sad for both families. Just glad he didn’t kill the roommate too.

Very sad for that girl dying.  Charlie, not so much.

For her to put a restraining order he probably put her through some shit.  And then to get murdered.  Feel for both of their families, but especially hers.
