Bullpen and batting Robert in the 7 spot every game, not figuring out a rest schedule for Moncada, batting EE 4th or 5th every game,.... The list of mistakes is pretty long. I’m not usually one to say fire the manager or batting/pitching coach, but RR was pretty bad. With Coop, it was just time.
October 12, 20205 yr Wow did not expect that at all. This must mean Hahn already has a deal with an established star manager similar to what happened with RR and Joe Maddon. Maybe it even is Maddon again:). No way Hahn fires him to install an in house guy or a rookie manager like jirschele or a has been like Ozzie, it must be a veteran star like hinch, Maddon or Girardi.
October 12, 20205 yr This is probably the best presser in Rick Hahn's tenure as GM. So much new information. Not so much lawyer speak.
October 12, 20205 yr Author Cooper change is not a "major rethinking" of how they handle pitching and development. Mentions Zeleski. Said they do it well. Called it tremendous. Also said scouts recognize who they can help, and do it tremendously well. Again mentions internal PC candidates, and credits Cooper for developing them.

October 12, 20205 yr Bring Joe Torre out of retirement, I always wanted him to be a Sox manager - only 85!

October 12, 20205 yr Hahn's wishlist - Pitching, RF, DH. Mentions internal candidates, says FA possible.
October 12, 20205 yr Just now, Soxnfins said: Hahn pretty much saying what we need.. RF/DH/Pitching Haha, it's exactly what we needed heading into last off-season.
October 12, 20205 yr Author Wish list for off season? Mentioned SP/SH/RF last year. Didn't get what they wanted out of RF and DH this year. Will be in teh market for more pitching, just like 29 others. Does mention internal candidates for those needs, but will keep an eye on the market. Does say he hit the nail on the head with that list, but mentions pitching first, then RF/DH Does say they won't be doing nothing.
October 12, 20205 yr Just now, Harry Chappas said: What about Gardenhire? I think Gardy is done managing.
October 12, 20205 yr Author Does still think that internal guys will have roles going forward, might not know what they will be, but will be around. Mentions Cease, Kopech, so doesn't know what they will get out of them in 21. Dunning then mentioned as another question, Stiever mentioned. Lambert also mentioned, but said none of them are certain.

October 12, 20205 yr Author Would be a real nice problem to have too much pitching, doesn't think that adding another pitcher would be a bad thing, nor a bad statement on other guys futures going forward.
October 12, 20205 yr Author Jimmy Lambert will start throwing program in a couple of weeks, more significant forearm strain than Crochet, but still should be ready to go soon.
October 12, 20205 yr Just now, Soxnfins said: Hahn pretty much saying what we need.. RF/DH/Pitching At the risk of sounding a little like JP - I've always felt like Rick Hahn had a very rigid plan since he traded Chris Sale. We know he wanted to do a rebuild before then and was finally allowed to pull the trigger, now he's officially in "not fucking around mode."
