A Madrigal, Heuer + package makes me want Castillo in return if we're dealing with the Reds, not Gray.

I'd also make that deal in a heartbeat (then try and sign La Stella).

I wish the goal was to get as good as possible, not just to hopefully be better than 4 small market teams.

Some excellent points.

This talk of He Who Shall Not Be Named is just flat out awful. Shouldn’t even be allowed.

You guys are soul crushers.

?...no idea what team he is referring to.  Feels like we always trade with Texas, but they don’t have anyone left that fills the bill.

Yeah Texas was first team I thought about.  Honestly next team I thought about was Cubs and Hendricks, but that would cause the worst spelling ever on this site.

Dodgers?

Nah - I would DEFINITELY get the spelling right ;)

We have a really good history with them?

Good call, but don’t see them having any interest in Heuer.  Maybe Seattle?  Marco Gonzalez is probably more available than most of the other rumored names.

Dodgers & Yankees were the other two teams I was thinking of, but don’t see what starting pitchers they have that would also be expendable.

Wouldn't say a really good history, but we do share the spring training facilities and we have done some deals over the years. Plus the pkg being talked about could fit their needs, if one were to squint just a little bit.

Dodgers have like 61 extra starters that would be expendable. At least it always seems like it.

It’s Boston. Sale is coming back.

I’d be ok with moving Heuer, but I struggle with what team would take him back as an important piece of a trade.  The Reds potentially?

One of the foodguys mentioned Reds and Brewers love him.

I feel like he’s referring to Milwaukee. There was awhile when the Sox traded a reliever to them every single year.

You have no idea how much I'd love that. Probably wouldn't cost much either, more of a salary dump.

If the Sox could get something really good with Madrigal as the centerpiece I wouldn't mind at all.

Pretty sure they’re happy with Urias and Hiura up the middle. Madrigal not a good fit

They could move Hiura to 1B or DH. Problem is for Woodruff or Burnes, you’re going to have to add Vaughn or Kopech also

Could they get it done with Cease?

Cease,Madrigal, Heuer and good prospect likely does.

Yeah, isn't Hiura terrible defensively? Not sure if he's a 2B long-term. But agree that Madrigal probably can't headline a deal for Burnes, and definitely can't for Woodruff

Sonny Gray or Marco Gonzales make the most sense to me. Both cheap, controlled arms. Sox have been linked to both teams too. Hell, I feel like Gonzales pops up every offseason as a guy connected to the Sox, and he had a sneaky good 2020.

Yeah he’s a butcher at 2nd (and holy hell did he look bad last year trying to hit high fastballs)

What type is the "good prospect?"
