Damn we DFA’d our 5 hitter?!

  • I've been a White Sox fan for many years, and many times I've heard the phrase "don't worry, it's early." It's early now, but it's not too early to worry about this team. Grandal is bad, and Vaughn sh

lol, Jason doesn't even realize 2nd or 3rd doesn't matter.  Is it too much to ask in his 3rd year to know that run doesn't matter?

Robert’s had a great game

Ok?

An analyst I was listening too was talking about how a player like Moncada focusing on music in the offseason shows where his mind is and downgraded him in his rankings.

I kind of agree with that.

If you look at a guy like Pete Alonso, he got big, did all these commercials and somewhat sucked in 2020, but came in this season extremely focused, turned down some offers, and is looking a bit better.

I listen to that podcast too and I think the point was completely absurd. Of course people can disagree, but having interests outside of baseball is healthy and normal. Giolito is arguably the best player on this team and clearly there's more to his life than just baseball. It'd be one thing if Moncada wasn't in great physical, but he is, and we saw how quickly he transitioned to a new position and excelled there immediately. Come on. The guy was practically dying on the field during games last season and still put up 1.6 WAR in 53 games.

it's horrible announcing, it's like get a clue dude.  why would anybody want to even bother paying attention to him?

Abreu has always been poor in the cold months.

Grandal is who he is. .240, .360

Moncada does make me a tad nervous (one good year)

Grandal hitting .240 would be a massive improvement. .215 now in a sox uniform

Get Vaughn all good at the plate and improving in the field and when Jimenez comes back...sorry Eloy but it is time for you to DH full time.

Not if Yermin is still hitting.

That was so ugly. He really looks awful at the plate.  I don’t get letting him hit there.

Yet he's still managed to be a significantly above average hitter. But it's been ugly this year.

I'm honestly ok with him going to AAA when the season starts but man, we need to find someone else to play LF quick.

Right. When Eloy comes back and assuming Yermin is still hitting decent and deserves at bats, I'm sorry to say this but Eloy is back in LF in this scenario.

ok come on eaton, one time.

That is our leader keeping it alive

Tough luck for TA because that would have been a hit regardless.

I think this team started the season believing its hype before earning it...

PH Lamb for Madrigal and not Vaughn is insane

The good news is, besides the Dodgers and Red Sox, the rest of the league all seem within a couple games of each other. Just stay around .500 until the bats are able to find some consistency and the weather warms up. They will be fine.

Vaughn looking better at the field than at the plate.  I think he will be fine eventually but I am ok with sending him down when minors start.  I am not sure he is quite ready for Major League pitching yet.

Not if Vaughn happens to be hitting well.  Then there's no place for Eloy.  Somebody will have to be traded.

Sox hitters love their 0-2 counts. It must be the best hitter's count.

Leave Lamb's worthless ass on the bench, pinch hit Collins for Vaughn and let Madrigal hit.

I should have added that in my scenario "if Vaugh is not hitting."
