The TLR Manager Thread

Featured Replies

Also, when a position player takes the mound, you're not respecting the game by throwing him. All (dumb) unwritten rules should go out the window.

Tony LaRussa doesn't know all the rules of the game but knows all the unwritten ones?

Well put

It is nothing. 100 percent people who don’t like tony are going to make an issue of everything even stuff without proof. Even in 12 run blowouts because they need to make it known how much they hate him

This post aged poorly

Lol. Good one

OK you can make the case he missed the take sign, but who is even paying attention to signs with a position player on the mound up 11? Tony left the dugout to put on a show for the Twins, but probably pissed off a few of his own players in the process. I don’t think it will lead to a losing streak, but this team seems it is going to be what it wants to be whether Tony likes it or not.

This - it feels like the movie major league - in this case - you can replace the owner with the manager. Feels like the team is basically like - we got this and we will crush it regardless of what he does to sabotage this.

Lol have that poster ignored but that was worth seeing.

I don’t get it. Are they worried about Astudillo’s pitching stats? He saved him from throwing more pitches they should be thanking him

Is Tony wrong on this? Yes.

Does it matter? No.

This is a bigger deal to soxtalk and twitter than it is to anyone in that clubhouse. They're probably laughing at how old school Tony is. You think Yermin cares at all? He's not a precious flower. He has more stones than that.

TLR is a detriment not an asset, anybody who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

TA should get a raise for being the player manager while Reinsdorf is doing a weekend at bernie‘s bit with Tony in the dugout.

Carl Everett now admits dinosaurs do in fact exist, and he does not like them one bit.

It's funny, when things are going well with this team, I kinda forget about my dislike of LaRussa to the point where I forget they even have a manager lol. But then he opens his mouth.

Just keep winning baby.

I was wondering why Yermin was looking so mad at the end of the game last night

you nailed it.

I thought one of the biggest "unwritten" rules of baseball was not to criticize your own players to the media.

Not long ago, he was bending over backwards to downplay the struggles of his white pitcher.

Now he calls out his Dominican DH.

Yes, I said it.

I picture them telling Yermin to not worry about it and to move on and just let Tony ramble. It's kind of like a family party where Tony is the senile grandpa who is just talking about god knows what and no one is really listening.

Fair.

I’m not sure there’s a correlation with defending a struggling pitcher here

Here are the ways this could have been handled in order of Least to dumb to dumbest

do nothing

”hey we’re already beat up let’s not tempt people to hit us” keep it indoors

”hey were not gonna do that here” KEEP IT IN HOUSE

like four other dumb ways

very public ally call your best hitter a moron

Are they trolling us?

I don’t think that really matters with this team. Stone was mentioning the best clubhouse he was a part of was the Orioles and they all hated Earl Weaver.

I legitimately think in this case - it is the great unifier in the clubhouse right now (as sad as that sounds).

I'm sure the clubhouse does care but not enough to distract them and start losing games.
