He brought good karma to the team and clubhouse?

Depends on what you mean by karma. Karma doesn't cause injuries. Tripping running to first does

  • Correct.  But if they aren't even considering surgery than it isn't a bad grade 3 tear. So the likelihood of long term issues is greatly diminished.

Only thing that came to mind was Tua

Only thing I can see is David Lee of the Warriors had one in 2013.

This is what it means to be a White Sox fan. This is it, and it just slapped us all right in the fuckin faces.

it went from 3 weeks optimism, to 12-16 weeks, to career altering, amazing!

Brutal. I'm really not a fan of a kid his age being that lean and carrying that much muscle. He looks over-trained for a baseball player. Tearing a hip flexor running out a routine play isn't normal.

He'll be in the lineup tomorrow

worse. Jimenez was Peavy.

Is this somewhere between Peavy and Bo Jackson?

So are you saying that Eloy could lose some of his power as well?

Tua was labral injuries that could easily be fixed with surgery.

Don’t see how Sox can win it all with 2/3 of outfield gone.

Can Vaughn play CF next year?

Apples to oranges. Jackson had a fracture of the femoral head and needed a hip replacement. He was never going to really run again.

The Eloy injury has not impacted them.  Robert will but it's not a 20 game swing.

Rodon and Kopech adding to the staff negates this.

Go get a guy for CF and go from there.

Just so I’m understanding correctly, you’re saying the Eloy injury has not impacted the Sox?

Can you please just start lying to us and tell us it will all be ok?

Mercedes has more than covered that loss so far. It was the Engel injury on top of that that's killing them.

I can't even convince myself of that.

Thanks, JR.

I hope you are happy.

The problem is outfielders like Robert get hurt. His comp is Griffey and we know that story. His division rival Buxton is always hurt.

And you wonder why most of this board was crying for some depth pieces in the off-season. Nobody could have predicted that Robert and Eloy would be out for extended periods of time, but you need to have depth there just in case. Now we'll probably have to overpay for a replacement.

Being cheap in the short run ends up hurting in the long run.

First it was TLR causing the injury now it's JR?

Obama is next in terms of blame

He's much more Mike Cameron than Griffey Jr. Tbh, if this injury and his physique don't make you question some things, you're in denial.
