That's the right approach.

Take the pitcher's pitches...look for one to drive while you're working the count and wearing him down by the middle innings.

Man the line up looks a lot better if Andrew Vaughn gets hot.

You just can't carry a .550 OPS hitter with below average outfield defense (who gives up a ton of hits over his head and takes bad routes).

 

Waiting for Luis Robert to save the day isn't a very good strategy.  Or Engel, for that matter.

Would love to know why Leury thought trying to pull the ball in that at bat was the best approach
