  • Nobody believes that. You'd be complaining about the lack of prospects or whatever part of the team that was lowest performing.  If you were dating Kate Upton you'd be complaining about the fact

Don’t be hating just because you don’t have access to such privileged insider information!

Tiquan Forbes for Escobar? Would he really cost much more than that?

That definitely sounds like an Arizona leak, gotta do what you gotta do I guess

Fans whining about ownership not spending enough money is pretty lame. I see Cub fans questioning Joe Ricketts about why he didn't sign Schwarber for 9 Million.

Ownership takes many things into consideration when signing players to big  contracts. They don't just keep spending and spending to satisfy the hunger of rabid fans.

Using the Cubs deciding to penny pinch with a +200M budget as rationale for why the Sox shouldn't spend is hilariously awful

Could be a play in the media to get the DBacks to accept the Escobar offer as well

I think so.  I’m sticking with Pilkington & Bilous as the eventual return

Make it happen Hahn!

Can we change the thread title to "Sox engaged on 2B targets Escobar, Frazier" or something?

This is the time of year where these guys accept being a team leak factory, so they can get the later scoops.

So Diamondbacks feed Heyman the first leek and the Sox feed him this one.  Someone should hopefully blink soon because it’s clear we’re only two teams involved in this dance.

Tried to make it as accurate as I could

If the Sox think he can play right they should pay what it takes imo

Agreed. If he can slide into RF next year, that lineup is stacked.

I don’t think Frazier‘s bat plays all that well in RF. Sox need more power in the lineup.

Are you kidding me ? If 4 or 5 teams are after Escobar I'm pretty sure a few of them will come up with more than Forbes including the Sox.

I think maybe Bailey Horn or even Adolfo might work as a centerpiece for Escobar but the secondary piece would probably have to be decent.

Maybe something like Horn + Sosa + Beard for Escobar + Soria is where the Sox would draw the line.  And I say that because I think Horn is a nice prospect and Sosa might be really climbing right now.

If Luis and Eloy are healthy next year that’s 50+ homers right there.

A 3B/2B with an OPS over .800 at the notorious pitcher's park in Birmingham. He's got a good OBP right now. Escobar isn't that great. He's a half year rental.  He could very well regress to his career normals soon. If the Sox take on all his salary, I don't think he costs much more than Forbes. Maybe include a low level lottery type prospect.

At this point his value may be too high.
