July 2, 20214 yr If everything goes well, Yermin might not see the Majors again until rosters expand in September.
July 2, 20214 yr Like I said in the other thread, it looks like Yermin was starting to get it back, but the need for healthy position players was too much with the injured, plus the walking injured on this team. Need some people who can field a position.
July 2, 20214 yr Burger is going to get some at bats with the Yermin move. Hopefully Yermin takes this well - gets to work on some of the parts of the game that has gotten taken advantage of at the big league level and can make it back up and stick this next time. He clearly can hit and I don't think his hot streak was a total fluke - but he won't with the level of at bats he was having for the past month plus. I do thank him for the April.

League adjusted and he just didn't adjust back - but I don't think it is a physical / tools issue - it just took him too long to get himself back. He's got to go down to AAA and just really work on those things and he'll get another shot.

If he could catch, he'd still be on this roster.

This - I figure he'll get quite a bit of opportunities behind the plate and at 1B. If you are only a bat with no ability to play in the field - you really have to RAKE to stick.

And with Moncada, Jose, Leury, and Billy H all nursing injuries (at least) on the active roster, you can't carry a guy like that right now.

July 2, 20214 yr I feel like Yermin has a bad case of the "caught in betweens" as Hawk would describe. Hope he can regain the timing with more consistent ABs.

Collins was the Sox first round pick that year.

I think this has less to do with his bat and more to do with the idea that he can't play the field and has no defensive versatility. We have enough guys, more then enough, that we can plug in at DH. I'm glad to see Eaton back, only if we are going to get the Eaton of April.
