  • Oh for the love of god.

  • Luzardo has sucked harder this year than Cease did last year.

This is getting Lucas Giolito after 2018 by paying cash and giving up a good expiring contract.  This is a freaking steal.

If the return is minimal as I would assume, I’m gonna be pissed

We should be rooting for minimal returns. Why would we want rentals going for huge prices?

Minimal return = buyer's market

Poop. Sox are getting nothing.

Luzardo going to Miami, dang

because Marte would be a perfect fit for us.

I have no desire of having a collection of two 4th outfielders, two natural 1B and a designated pinch runner as our RF options

So to keep score of the AL teams at the moment:

  • HOU: Kendall Graveman
  • OAK: Starling Marte
  • BOS:
  • TBR: Nelson Cruz
  • CHI:

Only three moves so far, but all of them fairly impactful and plenty time for these guys to do much more.  The idea we don’t need another bat is nonsensical IMO.

What happened to Luzardo? He was once super highly touted yea?

Hopefully we don't wait too long

I really think Graveman is a mirage.

In July he's looked like crap. This is selling really low.

He is like ReyLo with more team control

He was atrocious this year, no idea if he looks like he has anything left, but the results were awful this year and just pretty meh last year.

No idea how to value Luzardo at the moment.  Dude was a 60 FV prospect and still has plus velocity for a lefty, but has also been garbage this year.  Still four years of control with the upside he possesses is probably a smart gamble.

Could be, but I’m expecting the Astros to make a couple more big moves.

He's 23 with a better than 3/1 K/BB.

Young with a lot if potential and MLB experience. He's a nice piece to get for Marte.

Marlins are apparently sending a lot of money along with him

Agreed. Very nice trade for a rental.

Which is to say he has much less track record of being bad

Even with Luzardo sucking,  I don't think the Sox have a single talent level like that down in the minors to match that.

I know Luzardo has been ass this year, but this is like trading Cease last year.

If these are the prices then idk how the Sox can get anything done really.

That's a high price for 2 months of Marte.
