  • If Cease gives up a run today, the playoffs look like a fist round sweep, if the Sox even make it. He really needs to be Jacob Degrom for the Sox to have the slightest chance.Only a 10 1/2 game lead,

Ummm...are you allowed to kick the ball?

Edited by chw42

Stacey is right, Silk Sheets.

That was not kicked unintentional

And that's what keeps Sheets from starting.  That was a pretty easy dig at 1st.

The pitches we throw him are pretty similar to how the Indians pitch him. Around 36-38% fastballs (let's not pretend the Indians don't throw him any fastballs). But here's the difference (first is Indians, 2nd is Sox)

We throw him a lot more pitches near the outside black as opposed to off the plate and low. His hot/cold zones vs. the Sox is all red whereas he only has 2 hot zones vs. the Indians. It's all about execution.

Cleveland has better pinpoint location in their rotation/bullpen.

Sheets 100% has to catch that.

Nice throw

This has to be overtuned.  Dead ball.

He looked down at the ball

He totally kicked that on purpose lol

Yes, he saw the ball and made no effort to try to avoid it.

Royals will win this game something like 8-2, Sox are a total pushover right now.  Embarassing ?

2 zones today that was a strike

I wonder if Yoan knew Perez was running on the grounder. He had a shot at getting 2. Instead we got no outs and gave up a run.

Look, more uncompetitive pitches from Cease ?

Defense really fucked him this inning. This is usually when he unravels in his bad starts.

Just saw the Rodon update. Pitching depth is scary right now

Yeah, you can kiss home field in the ALDS goodbye.

It’s hard to comeback with crappy defense on the field from Sheets and Goodwin as seen today.  It is hard to win games with a Sunday line with four bad defenders on the field at the same time.

What is the update?

Don't worry.

Be happy.

Hopefully he can pitch against Boston next weekend, but he's not feeling it right now and that the Sox are concerned. Same issue as before (shoulder fatigue and soreness).
