Thinking about who should DH in the playoffs (assuming Engel is healthy) is just depressing me right now.

They really messed up at the deadline. Relying on Engel to get healthy seems like a horrible decision.

Poop.

Nailed the bottom outside corner of the strike zone with that slider. Hard for Abreu to do much with that.

Sit back and foul it off? I dunno

Or Eaton, or Parrot.

He lost all his power coming over from Cleveland

If Cesar could go back to being the ~350 OBP guy he was for years, that would be great too. Hit for power or get on base, I really don't care which. But right now he's hitting like a sub replacement level bat.

Well, at least it wasn't a double play.

Because there were two outs, otherwise it would have an around the horn tailor made DP.

After landing Tepera, another bat was clearly their biggest need. Deciding to push their chips in for Kimbrel over Bryant was an egregious mistake in the moment.

What's Tony pouring for himself on the plane?

This team is unwatchable right now.

The deadline overall was a disaster, but Hahn did at least nail the Tepera trade.

Liquid baby laxatives.

I think had we hired Hinch like Hahn wanted to, we'd probably have Grossman as an everyday corner OFer. But we might also not have Lynn or Hendriks had we gone that route.

Let’s talk about that more in a few weeks.

Take away the throwing error on Lopez, and this was a really well pitched game for the Sox.

I'm surprised that's the difference right now.

Bye GB stay gone

Oh well, they are resting up, keeping the powder dry. Just wait - If the Sox win it all we will be able to fondly recall and share with our grandkids the details of what an exciting summer postseason we enjoyed.

Oakland's bullpen had been awful heading into this series. We have 2 runs off them so far.

It's all about results over process in the Sox situation, but if you gave the Sox a redo (certainly) on the Kimbrel trade they'd take it in a millisecond.

Same happened against Toronto. Maybe it’s me but it feels Sox have not had a lot of late game comebacks this year.

I hope Eloy is available to pinch hit if a few guys get on.

If they score 3 runs in a playoff series and get bounced, we will say Tony coasted way too long in September.

No, you're not wrong. I think we score most of our runs in the first 6 innings. We're one of the worst teams at scoring late in games.

And it will be worse in the playoffs.  Maybe we can get a manager who can motivate the team next year.
