Imagine Schwarber being Hahn’s big move and it not happening until the lockout settled.  It would be a brutal couple months for Soxtalk.

The big move being SIgning a DH/1B type would be brutal regardless of when it happens

I still want to give Sheets a shot honestly.

It would, but using what's likely limited resources on a reliever and corner OF/1B/DH option would be the quintessential Rick Hahn off-season.

You can never have to many versatile 1B/DH/Corner OF type players

The pitchers would love having that OF defense behind them.

I’d be disappointed too, but if paired with a trade for say Ketal Marte it could work out.

Kimbrel for Segura would be a clear FO fail.  Lazy, bad planning, bad judgement, just everything.

Yep. Thats a garbage result.

So do I. I'm also not sure how much better Conforto or Schwarber would be than signing a cheaper guy like Joc, and then rolling with the Vaughn/Sheets/Engel/Joc in RF anyways.

Man, all these guys are flying off the boards. And it's just crickets with the White Sox.

Tanking an entire season for the final result of it to be a 32 year old Jean Segura isn't appealing to you?

I don't see how an off-season in which you have to trade Vaughn because you couldn't just spend money is a big win or even a win at all.

Not sure how to take this signing.  Financially it doesn’t change things, but do the Angels even have a rotation spot open after this?  Seems like they’re now six deep.

I did not know he was a starter? the Cincinnati guy?

Where did I say “win”?  I said could “work out”.  If you want to maximize your chances to win the next three years, Schwarber & Marte could make a huge difference.

This is just ripe for a mystery team to sign him. Not the Mets or Dodgers

You think the Sox may actually be in the mix?

Would make some sense obviously.
