They're working hard trying to figure out how they misread the market so fucking bad.

So basically other than maybe Kimbrel trade for stuff no one here wants, we aren't gonna accomplish anything.

Im sure at the time nearly everybody thought what they did at the trade deadline was impressive one way or another

Nope.

Doubtful.

The idea that the White Sox had all these strong offers for Kimbrel weeks ago and have...not moved him yet...also seems doubtful.

Soxtalk continues to be better at reading the market then the front office, then.

I do wish they had worked harder.

If they misread the market, which should surprise exactly no one, they need to pair a prospect or eat some money on DK to help open up some extra cash.

Or SoxTalk is just better at Googling "MLBTR Free Agent Predictions" than the front office. Either way, they better adjust and land Conforto.

Pirates getting more done than the Sox today lol

did you even read the follow up tweet? he said this time sarcastically. You're caught up in some weird semantics

eh at least on the high end I think soxtalk generally hits better than that. MLBTR tends to hit the mid market better, where this board is always shocked when an average SP gets 10+M

lmaooo you guys will trust the likes of harold's left leg but wont trust cishek who has proven to be right time and again, just picking and choosing who you want to believe ?

Hi Cishek, nice to see you have made your way onto the forum!

Who on Earth is it who cares so much about white sox fans believing that the front office is working hard? Even if he's completely making all this up, why would he think that's something he should push literally every trade deadline and offseason?

Because it works.  Despite all of his gaffes over the years, most fans still think he's an effective GM and are fans of Hahn.

but i was ripped on for suggesting how shit the front office has been at evaluating MLB talent and that this offseason would be more of the same! oh well, looks like it is.

Just to see, I checked out his B-R page, and I think there's a good chance this is the worst DRS I've ever looked at. I have to go look at Soler or someone like that now for context.

Edit: Good God his career DRS is nearly twice as bad as Soler's in the OF in a comparable number of games. This may be what it looks like if I were a big league outfielder.

Conforto’s prediction is 1/20.

Yeah, I’m not exactly sure where all this benefit of the doubt towards the front office came from.

I'm going to laugh and cry if they get hosed on a Kimbrel deal. It seemed so painfully obvious that buying him out was the right call, yet the White Sox and many here were convinced he had trade value even at 16mil.

you know to start the offseason I would have said there's no way he takes a 1 year deal, but maybe he gets an AAV he likes and thinks he can recreate what Semien did (or moustakas before that?)

I still think there's plenty of money sloshing around that he finds what he wants, but wouldn't be shocked if he did it now.

Ha, good call!

I don’t even want Conforto at one year. Sign him now for multiple years and fix what has been a problem now for how many years?
