This is an absolute joke.  Really feel for those who can't watch.  No local fan should be shut out of a playoff game.

  • This is the kinda stuff that will make me never feel remotely bad about finding not-so-legal means of watching things. Miss me with the artificial scarcity shit.

  • You'll see a whole page of "take him out" or "FUCK" and the Sox will be leading 5-1.

Other option is to find a streaming service who has MLB Network and sign up for their free preview

with a computer and internet you can find 3rd party streams, not as fun but its there for the desperate. I will have to resort to this unfortunately..

According to the tweet that I shared, MLB Network will be offering free access for the next 10 days.

I don't know why any fan is shut out of watching playoff baseball.  I subscribe to MLB.TV and HULU and I get only the Sunday game here in Michigan.  Not a happy camper.

Is it automatic (as in a normal person can just flip on the game and it will be there) or are there hoops to jump through?

The Thursday and Sunday games are on the same channel.

This still requires you to have some sort of cable/satellite plan, though, and one that is participating in the trial. It's not free to everyone.

Putting both games 1 and 2 during the day is so fucking stupid. MLB has its head up its ass. Just put them all in the evening and let them overlap.

But even with these dumbass day games they should never, ever have one series play two weekday day games in a row.

I have Hulu w/live TV. Looks like I'll be looking for a stream.

Hulu not showing it yet.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Hulu has never had the MLB Network (at least in the few years I've had it).  I wouldn't expect them to suddenly be able to make it available.

We're talking about the FS1 games on Thursday and Sunday.

Or you can PM me for a stream

If you have a TV that can access HULU you should be able to download the MLB app and get the free trial on the app.

I've got FS1 so will be able to catch 1 & 3.

Working for game 2 so I will have to rely on checking in on the GameThread...I'm sure I'll have no problem figuring out who's leading.

No. The app (and mlb.tv generally) does not include MLB Network.

If you regularly watch TV you pretty much have to pay XFinity service + XFinity cable TV, or have Dish satellite service, or add a streaming app to a dedicated internet line. HULU plus LiveTV  ($65/month)  includes FS1 and FS2 and you can play the games live on your phone or stream them to any smart TV.  Some people are hesitant to add a streaming services until they have deleted cable TV from their cable service to save a few bucks on that.

I like Hulu plus live TV but I think it should be less expensive. I think I am paying for a lot of content that I do not ever use and that I do now want to contribute to.

Dang. I thought the games on the app were from MLB TV. I'm screwed then as I'll be out of town.
